RunningJayhawk - 2008-05-08 9:08 PM Mike has his today and he had massive improvement. Shorter stem...adjusted the seat and hood...pulled back the aerobars...he's no longer reaching (which is both of our problems). We had great fits for regular racing on a road bike...but the aero position throws it all for a loop and an adjustment needs to be made.

Yeah, the aero position is just a totally different beast. It took me a lot of tinkering to find mine.

I can't say that I have found mine yet - unfortunately, the bike I bought is not the right type for aero bars, however - I have had it fitted so I can be in the best aero position given the bike

who knew that I would have like this sport so much?

Yeah, I'm thinking I'd be in an even better positon on a Felt DA, but that's in the cards, so it's the modified roadie.  Seems to do ok.

Off for some b-ball watching.  Be good!

Knocked out a 50 minute brick this evening; 25 bike and 25 run.  Soooooooo, do I add 5% to each 25 minute workout?  Inquiring minds want to know!

"A herring?"

Nope - you add 1 to the column marked "Bricks" (it's the first column) and then the spreadsheet automagically calculates all the bonuses for you

RunningJayhawk - 2008-05-09 3:01 AM The new spreadsheet freaks me out. I can't lie. I'm intimidated.

Hey, it freaked me out for a while as well! (And I've still got the East Coast one to go... sigh...)

Just put the totals in the boxes, one row for each week. Don't put numbers outside the boxes or they don't get counted. If you've got any problems, just shout!

Got it figured out, thanks Gilley!

Strength workout completed this morning.  Weather permitting, long mtn. bike practice tomorrow for next week's race.

Official mountain bike races don't get an extra 5% do they?  I raced for almost 4 hours last week.  Have another one next Sunday on  the 18th.

Go team!

21 mile bike commute this morning...weather was perfect..

There's a shower at the corporate gym, and I left a set of clothes yesterday afternoon, so it works out well...

Oh...I guess that means 21 miles back...

ChicagoMan65 - 2008-05-08 11:33 AM Hey everyone....I've been sick this week---flu. I had it and it nailed me Mon, Tues and Yesterday. Still feel weak, but did do some abs this morning. Going to pool in a few for a short swim to get back into the swing of things. This illness may seriously trash my May goals, especially if Wife or Kids get it too. Oh well, all I can do is try to get the miles in.....

Mark,

hope you are feeling better!  goals can always be adjusted for that thing called life!

hi guys,

I've just updated your spreadsheet and I'm afraid I've had to replace the old version with the new one (there was just too much copying and pasting involved otherwise, and it's been quite time consuming as it was).

here's the link:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pfYL7DR_dx-Co0YezxGDgag&hl=en

So I'm very sorry if this has just broken the link in your rather lovely (but not quite as cool as the internationals!! ) links table, but it has saved my sanity and probably also my marriage!

Please check the details and make sure all the times entered are correct (I did try to copy them across correctly!). The method of calculating the average has changed - it's now an average of each individual's average, rather than an average of each discipline's average. This is more balanced, because otherwise the strength average was counting for a quarter of the result.

Any questions, let me know!

cheers,
Gill

never mind!  I found it

bump!

Dude.

The bike fit?

WORTH EVERY PENNY.

New seat post...moved things forward...moved handlebars down...

AERO POSITION IS ACTUALLY COMFORTABLE.

Awesome. Totally awesome.

I can't wait to go ride on Sunday.

Tonight's 2500 swim with 3x500 went really well. Swam the trio in 9:46, 9:44 and 9:28.

Hopefully tomorrow's run will be brilliant.

See all you riders on the road tomorrow!

I am really sorry but if they aren't a multi-sport race then they don't qualify for the bonus. (I feel very mean, but it's the same ruling for straight running races.)

Have a great weekend everyone!

OK, so its freakin gorgeous here today, cool but sunny and very little wind. Did 50 this morning, at a very steady pace. Tomorrow's supposed to be windy and rainy with a high of 50. Ugh. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

OK team -- how do I count bonus points.  Did a Double brick this morning (I'll call it the Brettathlon) doing a swim, a bike, and a run back to back.

Swim 1750, bike 18 m, run 5k.

I even took first place overall!    (haha

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
