Another swim this morning (really struggled getting out of bed). The way I see it - since I have my Half Ironman on Sunday (thankfully still within the month of May), all I have to do is swim 2000y on Thursday to hit my goal - with 12 yards to spare.

Sorry for not updating the logs for a while guys, just wanted to build the drama....

Really I was out of town and was happy to have no internet connection. Got in some good OWS and plan on getting to the pool everyday this week in order to get to my goal.

Hey guys,

Sorry I've been out of it lately, work has been taking up more time this month then planned.  A little lighter load and swimming before work for the rest of the month should get me to 9 of my planned 13 sessions.

Just updated training log and spreadsheet, I managed to get 2500m in on Monday that took me over the 100% mark for my goal!!

it's a good job as from Tuesday morning through to the end of the month I think I wioll only get one more swim as I'm travelling and that would have been tight :-)

Ex_rower finally got back to me and said that he was out.

I don't have a problem with that, but I DO have a problem with the non-communication aspect of this and being extremely tardy to responding to this team.

Everybody plays a part in this and rely on each other.  Waiting almost until the end of this challenge, but needing to be "probed" first for a response, is not acceptable.

Hi,

There has been a rash of "late droppers" from this challenge, including people who've been active and have completed more than 60% of goal. Yanti set up this challenge but didn't include any instructions about this in the challenge rules. I'm just trying to keep the challenge going.

We can't really force someone to remain in the challenge but I suppose we (Boys and Girls) should try to come to an agreement on when someone can drop.

We've got someone on our team who joined the challenge and is logging activity every day but has only completed 25% of goal. I'd love to drop her, but it doesn't seem fair.

So, proposals for drop rules?

Drop if they haven't logged in the last half of the month?

double edged sword....should not drop anyone after the halfway point, that is not fair to either teams, and if someone is over 60%, they should not be dropped period, that is not fair to anyone. it is what it is, not like we are competing for cash prizes, this is supposed to be for fun and comraderie, and i think overall it has achieved it's goal, and i have gotten to meet a buncha new cool peeps in the process.

If it is not wanting to show your in a$$ a speedo...well, read the challenge rules in the beginning and not sign up.

If i lose, then all you can say ladies is you asked to see it, lol, fair warning!!!

Hi,

Obviously passions are running high with this challenge with our @sses literally/figuratively on the line.

So, I have a proposal:

Let's figure out how to reinstate everyone who was in the challenge as of the 16th of May. Then, we can do something like they do in diving and gymnastics scoring where the lowest scores get dropped. I suggest that at the end of the month the final team average will be figured after the lowest 10% of participants are dropped (I suggest we use a % rather than a fixed number since the girls have more members than the boys). Does this seem fair? I'd love some buy-in for this (but I suppose I can impose it unilaterally)

Thanks, Nicole

Nicole, you have my support on that, and thanx for picking up the slack of the challenge you deserve some credit for doing it!!!
