"Can anyone have a good place for breakfast in Augusta?

New Moon is on the corner of 10th and Broad...best coffee in town and great breakfast stuff made from local ingredients.  There is also the Sunshine Grill across the river in North Augusta on Martintown road.

Question:
Have there been ice baths at the finish before?

Looks like we may be clear for the swim...the hourly forecast calls for those nasty storms at 10am...maybe we'll avoid them while riding through scenic SC for the bike?  The rest of the day looks fairly clear and not so hot.

I will be at the expo around 3:30 today.  I will also be attending the 5:00 race briefing.  I am 6'4" and will be wearing my blue "Augusta Half Marathon Training Group" shirt.  Say hello and feel free to ask me any questions if you want some local knowledge!

I thought I read somewhere that the wetsuit stripper area got very muddy last year for those coming in from the last few waves. Is that true, and if so, would I be better off taking my wetsuit off as soon as I exit the water on the boat ramp? BTW, I am in the last swim wave.

Erin,
Good point with the coveriing of shoes. Im going to use the shop ironman bags from the expo to put my running shoes in and one to cover my cycling shoes. Maybe even change to dry sox before the run.
Time to adapt to changeing weather conditions!!

Just dropped $100 at the expo. Didn't need any of that stuff, but what the hell. Trying to decide if it makes since to set up transition tonite when I drop the bike off, or make the hike down to T1 again tomorrow morning. What are you guys gonna do?

I just ran by the strippers and took mine off in transition.   I can see how it would be muddy though for the last wave.  I think you could take it off as soon as you get out of the water.  It's a boat ramp and the whole area will be covered with carpet.

The wetsuit strippers were farther up that I thought they'd be and I ran right by them not knowing they were strippers until I passed them. I just took mine off in T1 when I got to my bike.  From what I remember last year they only have 2 wetsuit strippers when I ran into T1.

[email protected] - 2010-09-23 8:37 PM I am leaving Charlotte Friday morning at 5:30.  Puts me in Augusta at 8:30AM.  I am going down to the river to do a swim and an easy run afterwards.  Can anyone have a good place for breakfast in Augusta?

I might be late on this, but a good place to eat breakfast is Sunrise Grill- just over 13th bridge into N. Augusta. And of course there's a Cracker Barrel off I-20W past the Washington Rd exit.  There's a cafe downtown (I think it's Blue Moon Cafe or something like that) and they have really good coffee.
