Artemis - 2010-07-17 2:10 PM I want to point out that the day is not over and I am going swimming.  As such, I expect to not be a slacker after.
OK. Chaderbox will get double the zapping then.

Go ahead and give him three, he is slackin' on Team Sky TdF as well...

Eh, I'm in a generous mood. Let's go with four.

Had a few solid days of workouts.  Got a couple of core workouts in, which helped boost my overall %.  I'm still a slacker, but not as bad as I was earlier this week

I'm up to 56% now. I think that makes me not a slacker anymore.

crimefighter2 - 2010-07-16 3:16 PM Howdy folks.  I have a 10K tomorrow.  Never raced that distance before.  Anyone else doing anything fun?  (The race is called "Run for the Bagel" - in conjunction with - you guessed - Bagelfest.)

My internet is pretty darn goofy at home - so no clue when I'll get things inputted and updated or whatever.  Trip to Pittsburgh next week for a conference, so I will like be "moving on down" deep into slackerville...

have a great one peeps!
Do you need to eat a dozen bagels halfway through? Although, the Krispy Kreme challenge only makes you run 2 miles, eat a dozen donuts, then run two more miles. I can't imagine doing THAT, much less doing it with a 10k. Good luck tomorrow! Have fun!

No - no goofy eating - just a flat out race.  "Bagefest" originated 25 years ago - there is a Lender's factory in town that decided to start having a party.  Two different times the made the world's biggest bagel (the second time it was blueberry flavored)  Anyway - back to the race - I did awful.  Walked way too much.  My legs were just tired and I don't know why.  The guy that won the 10 K did it in 33:40 with #2 being 5 seconds behind him.  I was 108 out of 128.  Not quite DFL, but too close for comfort.

Good morning team!  Awesome weekend... lots 'o social plans and very little training.  Dinner out on Friday night, pool party with lots of friends on Saturday, recovery day yesterday with 2 naps.  Back to the gym at lunchtime to get back in the swing of things.

No worries!  You learned something though...   Its funny how "just a run" races are different than tri's....  I think it's mental - my thoughts are like "Sure, it just 10k and I don't even have to bike or swim first" - next thing you know I am walking during the third mile sucking wind...  Happens to all of us!

Short OWS yesterday and a nice run this morning...  Lunchtime strength workout...  Getting closer, but I really only have this week to get the two swims and the final strength since I will be on VACATION next week...  (I'm still planning to run though...)

I'm questioning the idea of beheading or using the electric chair on slackers (especially since I'm still on the slacker list). If we take someone out by beheading or some other method, then they definitely won't get any more workouts and will drop farther behind.  If we just increase the tasings, then it should help encourage them to get out more.

Now since this is an individual instead of team competition, I guess it doesn't really matter either way, because a slacker won't have a chance to win. If it were a team competition we definitely wouldn't want to execute someone. Unless of course if they are executed the person would be totally dropped from the team. I would think however that death would be handled the same way as when someone gets sick, ie the individual doesn't get dropped, the goal is simply adjusted in proportion to how long they were sick, which would mean a slacker is still a slacker when they get better so it doesn't really help the team move forward, it just allows them not to fall farther behind. Hmmm. Makes me think.

Anyway, this is just the ramblings of a slacker so you can ignore it, but if you're still reading its too late to ignore this but that's another discussion.

Busy weekend. Got home about noon Saturday and had to get things ready for my son's Eagle Court of Honor and the guests that were coming to visit. It was getting late by the time we had everything cleaned up so I didn't get my run/swim in. Sunday is my designated rest day, plus we had church, guests, and my wife and son headed out last night for a short trip so no workout this weekend. However I do have today all to myself (outside of work) so I'm planning on catching up on what I missed this weekend. Bike at lunch, then I have to pick up a new cell phone after work (hopefully it won't take long). Then its off to the gym to hit the pool, lift weights and go for a short run.

I was all excited last Friday thinking I was on track for the Tdf challenge. Then I realized that the 23rd is Friday not Saturday so now I have to squeeze in another ride.

Better than burping while you run...    Too bad you can't take a nap and run at the same time -  I would be world class!

But since this is an INDIVIDUAL challenge.....

Yes, I really need to behead or electrocute all of you.

Then I'll automatically win, not matter how much I work out.

Thank you for providing clarity.

But since I'm a giver -- would you prefer Sparky or the Guilllotine?

I'm a little frustrated with myself. I had it all planned out. I was even a little late for work because I needed to get my stuff together so I could go for a ride at lunch. Then I go and leave my jersey behind. It wouldn't go over very good to come back to work wearing a sweaty shirt so I had to skip the ride. I almost drove to the lbs to buy another one but I already have plenty and by the time I would make it back I wouldn't have time for a ride. Why did I take that extra shirt out of my bag the other day?

I considered this for a moment but then decided against it
1-I didn't want to blind any unfortunate people that happened to drive by.
2-Its been so long since my back has seen the sun that I would look like a lobster by the time I finished my 30 minute ride.
