deehtz - 2010-12-08 10:40 AM I am so excited!

I DID get my long run in yesterday that I missed on Sunday.  I am very pleased and slightly shocked!  I had planned 9.5 miles at 12:00 pace (I only jog, not run).  This would have taken me about 1 hour 55 minutes.  I wasn't running a pre-measured course, so I tried to run a comfortably slow pace for 2 hours.  When I mapped it out, I had run over 11 miles!   I checked it numerous times because I couldn't believe that I had gone that far that fast!  This meant about 10:40 pace for my longest distance!  Crazy!  But wonderful !!!!  And I am not really sore, just a little like any long jog.  Whoo hoo!!  Laughing

This is a real milestone and makes me feel really good looking toward my 1/2 marathon in February!

ironannekidd - 2010-12-08 10:40 AM Christmas is a necessity.  There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves.

I like this one alot.

Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree.  In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall.

givemashot - 2010-12-07 10:12 PM I am doing a happy dance!!!! My hubby is coming home right NOW!!! Yay! he's been in Charlotte since last Monday, and he was originally scheduled to come home earlier tonight, but they were having issues with the plant and getting samples to test, so, yeah. He wasn't going to come home until Thursday. (Thus the funk I was in yesterday. That's when I found out he wouldn't be home as scheduled). He called a couple hours ago to ask if I would pick him up at the airport at 11:50 tonight!!!!! Yay!!! Apparently they someow melted a necessary piece of lab equipment with the bath heater. Aw shucks, huh?

Hooray!!! I'm goin' to pick up my hubby!!! His flight lands in a half hour. *happy dance

Did I mention I'm excited about this???  Cool

Yeah, Amy!!!  Always nice to have that kind of surprise!

Isn't it funny that at Christmas something in you gets so lonely for - I don't know what exactly, but it's something that you don't mind so much not having at other times.

Instead of being a time of unusual behavior, Christmas is perhaps the only time in the year when people can obey their natural impulses and express their true sentiments without feeling self-conscious and, perhaps, foolish.  Christmas, in short, is about the only chance a man has to be himself.

Even as an adult I find it difficult to sleep on Christmas Eve.  Yuletide excitement is a potent caffeine, no matter your age.

I love the Christmas-tide, and yet,
I notice this, each year I live;
I always like the gifts I get,
But how I love the gifts I give!

He puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more!

Welcome, Christmas, bring your cheer. Cheer to all Whos far and near. Christmas Day is in our grasp so long as we have hands to clasp. Christmas Day will always be just as long as we have we. Welcome Christmas while we stand, heart to heart and hand in hand.

And for 10,000

Charlie Brown: (shouting in desperation) Isn't there anyone out there who can tell me what Christmas is all about?
Linus Van Pelt: Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you. Lights, please.
[a spotlight shines on Linus]
Linus Van Pelt: "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the lord shone round about them, and they were so afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you this day is born in the City of Bethlehem, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men'". That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie brown.
