Hey Guys, Quick question.

Just for my rough planning purposes... Say we order wheels in the pre-order or whatever.  When would we roughly anticipate receiving them?

If you could perhaps just give me a really rough timeframe ( I promise I won't hold you to it) I would appreciate it for planning my scheduling.

Thanks!  Can't wait to here from you!

We are estimating a 60-90 lead time on the wheels.  We are currently finalizing all of our first order/shipment details with our factory and should have accurate time frames shortly.  Our final prototype wheels are shipping this month.  Assuming that everything is ok the pre-order will start shortly after.  In a perfect world sometime in February.

Things look to be finally coming to a point as long as these last few pieces of the puzzle fit together.  As soon as we have better details we will be spreading the news.

Thanks for your interest and patience!

Take care,

Subject: RE: Flo Cycling- Group buy?

Discovered the other day that the hub on my 7 year-old front 404 has a MASSIVE crack in it that developed in the 8 months since I rode at IMTX.  I could get the rim relaced, but given that there was already a small area of damage in the rim, it's a less than ideal fix.

So I'm definitely one of those waiting eagerly for the pre-order and final pricing.  I see a Flo 90 front in my near future.

I'll stick with my 404 and custom built carbon fiber cover on the rear for now, but it does make me wonder:  Did you guys give any thought to making a CF aero cover as an option for the rear wheels?  It would be a separate mold from the one you use for the Flo disc sure, but it would provide an amazing option for your customers:  A deep dish wheel with a perfectly matched removable CF cover.

Agreed

Do we have rough estimates on pre-order pricing at all?

The thought actually did cross our minds.  With the price of molds however we wanted to focus on our core wheels (molds/inventory) while getting started.  It may someday be a product for us, but at this stage it doesn't make financial sense.

Great question though.

Take care,

Current estimates are at $375 for front wheels (FLO 60 and 90), $425 for rear wheels (FLO 60 and 90) and $500 for the FLO DISC.  Final prices and pre-order/group buy info should be available in the near future.  The next month... if all goes planned... should bring many updates.

All the best,

I'd be happy just to know that the shipping won't be UPS!

I was born and raised in Canada but now live in Las Vegas. We will be offering both UPS and USPS so shipping rates will be reasonable for Canadians and people all around the world. Take care,

Great minds and all that.

I'd wager that if you offered that option, the 90/cover combo would actually outsell the disc.  Once the molds were complete, the production costs would be low relative to the wheels themselves: simpler layup than the rim shape, no assembly/truing costs.  Wheelbuilder sells their cover for $90.  It wouldn't be a stretch to sell a CF one for $100 or $125 and you might end up with a bundle that has a higher margin than the disc itself.    Added bonus (and this is a real stretch) if you can develop a single mold that could reasonably fit deep Zipp, HED, and other wheels without sacrificing the fit on the Flo.  The mating doesn't have to be perfect on the others, but you would definitely be able to move more of a potentially high margin product that way.

One more opinion if you guys run with this in the future: make the mounting holes/screws to mount the cover an option.  I never drilled holes in the CF cover I made.  I just mount it to the rim with electrical tape and have never had a problem in 3 years of racing.  Having a portion of the inventory without holes means not having to worry about other spoke patterns if the cover can be used on other wheels.  You just leave it to the customer do drill them or use tape.

If you're spending 10k on a P5, I don't think your number 1 priority will be saving some cash on wheels ;-)

That's awesome.  Congrats to you guys for having the balls to go out and do something most of us would be too intimidated to take on.  Can't wait for the pre-order.  My first race of the year is May 6th....just saying.

Thank you for the kind words.  It's definitely been a long journey and we have had our share of ups and downs.  The production model prototypes were everything we wanted and more and I can say my brother and I had a very enjoyable ride yesterday enjoying the moment!

We'll do our best to get our first full scale production run out as soon as possible!
