| Regular 65 Baltimore, maryland | Subject: RE: Hashers and Mashers - Open I have been looking at the same thing. I tried it a liltle in the pool yesterday. I am sure that I am not doing right, but I did feel a difference when I kept my head low and extended my arm at 45 degrees instead of reaching out in front of me (I hope that makes sense). This is what they call "swimming down hill" and it helped me to keep up hips and legs up instead of their normal sinking position. Anyone else have some experience? |

I'm on pace to break 40 hours which was one of my goals for the month, so I'm happy about that.  Great work everyone!  I'm not liking anyone's chances of taking down strykergt in the next 4 days

Also, best of luck to Hasher and Masher kent2233 who will be doing what I believe to be his first ever triathlon tomorrow, IM Lake Placid! Can't wait to hear all about it! |

Sorry ESL over here. and also great run bro yikes you got to be averaging 20++ mi/week. WOW!!!! Thanks What Joe said. Some people really like it. I'm sure like everything else there are detractors as well. The key is to swim often and focus on form whether it be using total immersion, getting a coach or doing drills on your own. If you swim often and focus on form, you will get better. Very few long, continuous swims are necessary. |

Again, I'm not a stalker, but...he said he was 25, and there's only one Kent in the 25 to 29 age group tomorrow, bib # 1257 (as further verification, this person happens to be from Toronto, and Kent's profile says he's from Toronto). | Veteran 493 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Hashers and Mashers - Open Originally posted by strykergt No, I think he got taken off the course at the 56 mile point on the bike course.  If you don't reach that point by 1:30 PM EST you get stopped from continuing, and the results page says he hasn't reached that point yet.  It looks like just about everyone else in his age group has passed the 56 mile mark.  Hopefully he's ok. | Veteran 493 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Hashers and Mashers - Open Long run yesterday took a lot out of me.  Was really hot.  As of today two weeks till my 70.3.  I was going to go for a long bike ride today but then after that run yesterday all motivation to wake up early and get out on the saddle left me.  And it is my birthday weekend after all.  Prioritizing eating apple cinnamon pancakes and spending time with the family over going for a bike ride Maybe I'll take some time off work Monday or Tuesday and get my last long ride in before tapering. Frankly I'm feeling about as ready as I'm going to get, almost wish the race was this coming weekend to get it over with. |

Does that mean you get to jump up age groups? That would be nice! Competitive advantage being youngest in your age bracket? Thanks everyone!  My birthday was actually Thursday but work has been very stressful lately so we're more celebrating this weekend.  Besides, my wife usually claims her birthday lasts a week, I'm just claiming a weekend. I turned 31, so no, not entering a new age group. And I'm not really convinced the 35-39 age group is significantly less competitive than the 30-34 age group. Though I really have no reason for thinking that. I do envision the 25-29 age group as more competitive than the 30-34 age group. I think it's just the 2 in front instead of the 3. |
