Champion 7821 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Trump Originally posted by Left Brain I listened to Palin's endorsement speech this morning............good lord, that woman made me want to poke my eardrums out with a pencil. Then you'll probably also want to skip Trump's speech at Liberty University. Especially the part where he tries to demonstrate to his "fellow evangelicals" his deep and abiding love of the Bible by quoting from a verse that he'd clearly never seen or heard of before. |

Pro 9391 Omaha, NE | Subject: RE: Trump Not sure how long it will be up, but Drudge has a Super Poll of all candidates (R & D) going on. Obviously he has a conservative audience, so you'd expect the Dems to do poorly, but I thought it was hilarious that Bush is virtually tied with Hillary. Bernie's doing pretty good too. This is a conservatives audience mind you. lol

Buttercup 14334 | Subject: RE: Trump Trump is threatening to no-show the next debate because Megyn Kelly looks at him funny. What a wuss. The mediawh*** would never give up free air time. This is just a step in his negotiating for green M&Ms in his prep room, or maybe he'd like them to use the Beauty camera setting. Oops. Probably could have put this in the Debate thread. First off, I like looking at Megyn (yes, i said it) so I would much prefer her to be there. lol |

Wuss indeed. Waaahhh! And of course you would have loved him no different had he gone to the debate. I don't in any way compare Trump to Reagan, but I heard on the radio that he skipped the last debate prior to the caucuses as well and was even quite famous for boldly no showing some meetings with Russia to prove a point and ultimately got his way. I had never heard about any of those before so thought it was interesting. As for trump, this will capture the news cycle for him on every channel. His support will go up 5%. He will sweep all 50 state primaries and be your next President. |

He will sweep all 50 state primaries and be your next President. But Reagan also lost Iowa and in a panic demanded to his campaign manager that he be included in the New Hampshire debate. He even paid for it. I'm not sure this is a good move for Trump. I get that no matter how the debate goes he's already made himself the biggest story of it. And if ratings are down (which I assume they will be) he'll claim a huuuuge victory and say that no one cares about those losers. On the other hand, he's giving his opponents a national stage to attack him for two straight hours and he's not there to defend himself. Risky move. Plus, it does kind of make him look like he's afraid to face Megyn Kelly. |

Plus, it does kind of make him look like he's afraid to face Megyn Kelly. I also heard that about Reagan. I think it's safe to say we're in uncharted political waters with this one. The other weird part is that with so many participants in the debate each candidate seriously gets like 5-10 minutes of total talk time. So, even the defending part is minimal. From what I've been reading Megyn was tee-ing up another round of attacks towards Trump. She took the tweet down, but earlier she tweeted that the Republican picture will look different after Thursdays debate (or something to that effect). I do tend to agree that it's a mistake not to attend, but then again teflon Trump hasn't been effected by anything else. His support isn't because of traditional political things, so bucking that system doesn't have the same effect. It certainly has zero effect on me. It's not like I'm going to say "oh, he skipped the debate.. guess I should go support Jeb now..." pff
