barqhead - 2007-12-14 2:06 PM Happy dance!! I did 3000 yards today. I stuck to right-side breathing when my shoulder felt weird which was on my longer sets and I substituted quite a few kick sets instead of swim sets. But it is done! 11,000 yards for the week, 20,000 yards for the challenge. And best of all, no more swimming until Tuesday! Yay!!!

Great job!! I can't imagine 11,000 yards in a week, muchless with a sore shoulder! Glad you are taking care of it . . . enjoy the small break, you sure deserve it!

Looks like we all have hit a rough patch in swimming. At least me and Renee! The rest of you are doing awesome! I plan on going to the pool after my chiro visit. The number of yards depends on how my shoulder feels. Hope the sinus infection gets better by Friday, Renee.

Pam

Thanks Pam! I was doing better indeed today!

I FINALLY put some swim time in - 40 minutes this morning. I've just been working on swimming for a couple weeks now, so it was rough going back today after a short break! I think the key for me is to go OFTEN - good for this challenge I think I could have walked across the pool faster LOL! Frustrating for sure, but what do I expect after just 2 weeks? I'm pretty sore from lifting weights yesterday, but hoping that's a little better tomorrow so I can get some more swim time in!

GO REINDEERS!!!

Wow, I hadn't noticed those stars! Green...the color of money...just kiddin'...I spent all my money (and then some) already--and I've got more Christmas shopping to do. Guess I'll just have to love my green stars. What happens when I hit 100 posts? Do my stars all go away?

Speaking of stars . . . I think I just got my first one here YAY, starless no more!

Congrats on getting some swim time in Renee!  You must be feeling better...

Well, got 2000 yds in yesterday...THANKS Reindeer, I could have easily blown it off, but of course with a little peer pressure from the Reindeer, I felt I couldn't let the team down.

Heh...I'm going to go run outside right now...a friend from Chicago is visiting...he wanted to get together with the running group...

It's -4F outside right now...it's gonna be cold...

Went to masters today.

Focus was on turning my head less to breath and learning the Master stuff.

I actually was able to breath and have part of my mouth in the water and part out and it worked okay. Coach says I was swimming straight which obviously is the goal.

What I normally do I roll to breath I go to far & lift my head thus the rest of me moves ie not good.

It really puts me out of my comfort zone to go to Masters and it is 60 mile round trip, I'm the slowest swimmer, and it is hard. But I am determined to improve my swimming this off season in preparation for my Ironman and this is the best course towards that..weekly feedback on my swimming.

Thanks guys! It's about time, huh? I decided to go with a nice little reindeer. He's cute and some tri hottie addict friend sent him my way (thanks!). Next month you might get to see the cute little alien I call my son...along with my oldest and most insolent child (a.k.a. my husband). We shall see.

So how is everyone today?
