Anyone have a De Soto wetsuit?  I need to get one and I'm really leaning toward these.  Only question I really have, is it worth the extra 130 to get the first wave over the black pearl.  Half iron distance max in near future.

On another note, this group is really helping me out.  Making me motivated to finally pick a plan and get back into training!  I'm going to be doing a Duathlon plan as I have no pool in the near future.

i have a full sleeve nineteen riptide. i've heard fantastic things about the de soto suits (other then the price). i have a few desoto things (both my tri suits are desoto), and i can say this: 1) their stuff is VERY well made, and 2) the company and the folks who run it are fantastic - amazing customer service. i would post your question in the gear review/questions area and see what folks say who have them.

(ps. hope you're feeling better!!!)

Hey Autumn!!  Are we going to try to chat tonight?  I don't have swim class until 8:30pm (PST) so I can make the chat if you guys start earlier than that.

Thanks!
Sharon

It should work for me.  My coach added an extended swim workout (just in time for the January challenge!) So I may leave early but I can make it for most of the chat.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it or not.  My wife and I have to go to a Kindegarten info session at the school, and I'm not sure when we'll be home.

I'm going away for the weekend, leaving Friday night.  I also play volleyball every Friday if I don't have other plans.  Generally, Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays would work for scheduling a group chat.

I think that would be 6 for me and it may be tough as my husband usually works late on Tuesdays and the kids won't be in bed, but I will try to stop by if I can. I know that finding a time for everyone is tough, but the later the better for me since I am dealing with getting the kids to bed.

i guess no day will be perfect. oh well. how about weekends?

also, i am reading taylor's 'mental training' right now. so far its a great book, asking challenging questions. there are some activities in the book to do for working on various areas of the mental aspects to racing. i was thinking of starting a book group here in BT to discuss the book, but thought i would ask you all first. is this something any of you would be interested in? it could give us a focus to our discussions. thoughts?

I think having a book to discuss is a great idea!  What is the author's name?  Is the full title of the book Mental Training?

Thanks!

here's the book:

http://www.velopress.com/triathlon.php?id=203

i did two of the activities today. one was figuring out the areas to work on, and the second was a focus activity for one of the areas i need to work on. it was really helpful, but talking through some of it with bill was even more helpful than doing it totally on my own.

cool. since not everyone in the mentor group is interested, i started a thread in TT to see if other folks would like to read it. discussing the activities was really helpful, so i think a discussion group would be awesome.

I agree.  Especially if there are activities involved.  Triathlon Book Club.  Love it!
