Don't know bout you guys, but I will have to say those rollers on the run course gave me more trouble than I thought.  I pre-rode it on the bike before the race but I just never really felt like I could get into a flow.  Maybe that was part of the challenge of the run.  At least on the bike we had than highway section that we could hammer & get into some type of rhythm..but not the run.  Just my $.02

I agree on the run....no flow with the rollers, thats why I say 7:11 pace for me is hard to believe, but i'll take it.
The Hwy section on the bike is great. I looked down at one point and I was hammering along at 31mph!!
The swim is LONG at this race every year...sad.
Its really time Dave Johnson ponys up and gets chips and makes it a USAT race along with the Callaway races. He's getting left behind from the other races in the ATL area.
Just my $.02

If everyone says the swim is long, are we sure its 1/4 mile and not really 1/3 mile? LOLInnocent

I didn't feel like the swim was too long - maybe a tad, but nothing like the West Point Sprint Tri last month. This was supposed to be 1/4 mile - maybe it felt like 500 instead of 440?

My bike odometer was a little slow starting (it started right around the first turn off the road that park is on) but I still registered 12.3.  Anyone else measure a little long on the bike?

That is a pretty tough run course - a lot of ups and downs.  I also agree that the race should go to timing chips, otherwise, I really enjoyed it and bettered my 2008 time by over 5 minutes!

This year, I finished in 1:16:03, good for 66th overall and 13th out of 34 in my age group.  I think Callaway is next up for me and then I'll finish with Lake Lanier on 10/4.

Congrats to all who raced! I will say that when I saw Kevin Grogan was getting in on the fun, Carrollton took on a whole new degree of competiveness: 57minutes? Yikes!...My recollection from last year was that this was a low-key, under-the-radar, good-chance-of-coming-home-with-some-hardware kind of local tri. I guess the word is out?

Next year: Simon Whitfield?
