Truck is loaded up and I'm heading to Wilmington for early check-in. Looking forward to seeing many of you. Michael, Bib # 221. God speed, safe journeys, and if we don't see, or bump into, each other, I would like to apologize now If I kick you in the face, its because you are REALLY slow!!! I am now able to compete with the speed demons, you know, kids with floaties!

Have a great race and I'll try and swing back this way between now and Friday evening!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! You really make it sound amazing. Have a safe drive, Michael!

I can't wait to get down there but I have to wait until tomorrow morning to leave.... I'm chomping at the bit today! Only 2 more nights!

This is one I passed on to friends and family. I hope it's pretty accurate, bc this is what my husband will be using to guesstimate where I'll be.

My issue is that I am currently deployed and training outside is proving difficult, especially on the bike. I have found a safe 10km running loop but I am struggling with the bike training.

I strained by lower back last week. I know that I need to rest in order for it to heal fully, but I am concerned that I am going to lose needed fitness for the race. Will this affect my performance?

I was not an official; I simply observed the race and the officials doing their thing. Here is what I saw:
