I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

I passed 100 miles for December today. That makes 100 miles for every month of 2015. (Compared to 7 months in 2014.) I was tempted (just a little bit) to intentionally stop at 99.9 miles. Streaks have way of taking on a life of their own and I don't want to let running control my life or make me start saying no to other activities just to keep a stupid streak alive.

I'm hoping that the cross country skiing will be so good in Jan and Feb that I won't have many opportunities to get out running.

11 mile run today. Furthest I've ever done in my life with no walking and about a 30 second water break. About an 11:00 average pace which is almost a minute/mile faster than I usually do on my long runs. Was able to finish the last mile with a 9:30 pace as well.

Had my alarm set for 5. Didn't crawl out of bed until 5:30 and after letting the dog out almost didn't go out because it was cold and sprinkling rain a bit. Glad I went anyways.

Just looked at my Training log and I didn't start running until March 11. (My last run before that was in May of 2013) My first run was a 2 mile 2:30/2:00 walk/run which I did in about 24 minutes. I guess I did improve a little bit on that.

John, nice, nice, nice job. You have really improved a lot but more importantly, seem to be enjoying it.

Don, 100+ miles every month is awesome!!! Funny though about the streak. I've heard that other people do the same (skipping a run to intentional halt a streak) and I think that is healthy.

Made 108 miles this month.

Hope everyone has a great new year!

Didn't quite make it to 100 this month unfortunately. I made it to 84. I'm not going to dwell on it for too long though because I made the decision to spend more time with my family who I normally don't get to see very often, and I'm looking forward to the next couple of months being strong. I love these monthly challenges. How long has it been going on? since june? Happy new year everyone!!!

Soon after I got married, I decided I needed to get motivated to work out and focus on getting back into shape. I could barely jog a quarter-mile without needing a walk break.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
