Do you mean name another company that is positioned to grow proportionately with its connection to the current administration based on the fact that it has absolutely no risk?  One that can dedicate almost unlimited resources to growth because has no fear of not winning the contracts that it bids on or getting paid what it wants to get paid and only returns tens of millions of dollars in overcharges when it gets caught?

Hmmm, gee, that's a toughie.

There's also an interesting philosophy at work here.  Criticizing Halliburton for some of the things that have happened is not necessarily decided by party affiliation.  However, doesn't it seem like the defenders of Halliburton assume that any criticism must be defended as both an attack on the company and the republican party?  Does that further indicate the strength of the perceived relationship between the two?  I believe that's called irony, no?

Who defends Halliburton in an argument like this unless they are simultaneously defending the republican party?  Why?  Even if a person is a stockholder what difference will this argument make to their stock price?

Halliburton does a whole lot more that energy. Give me a list of companies that can provide the service's, on the same scale, that Halliburton provides in relation to the Iraq conflict. Logistics management is the main service the Army "buys" from Halliburton. Give me a few names.

The biggest reason is logistics. Instead of communicating with one company now you have to communicate with ten companies. It gives me a headache just thinking about providing support for an operation with 100'000's of people.

Don't diss marmadaddy.

AS far as "complaiining with no follow though", that's a pretty big jump if you're talking about people on this board. You have really no idea what we do when we're not on BT.

This is going to be my last post on this thread.

I didn't diss anyone. I don't care if people disregard my statements. I say what I say and if you get something out of it, good, if you think it's crap, good, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

If you want to ban me because of a post in COJ under a highly political thread. Go ahead, but don't expect me to renew my memebership in 6 months.

I've made no indication or implication that I was talk about anyone on this board, it was a general comment.

1.  I certainly hope that opinions here wouldn't prevent you from enjoying the benefits this site can offer for tri training.  I hope you don't base your decision to renew on what was said in this thread.

2.  After re-reading your original post, your comment above is pretty weak.

Hangloose - I thought that was a very good point about how some people see an attack on Haliburton as an attack on repubs and how thats very telling right there.

And, unless I'm wrong, you just addressed an issue. There goes your streak.

fwiw, there was a great Frontline episode on about a month ago that tried to shine some light on the whole military contractor issue. If you ever get a chance to watch it, it is time well spent.
