Here is the eternal Dog question:   Dog is sniffing the ground, all of a sudden drops on the spot and rolls around on something?   Can never figure out what it is or Why?  And since his hair is blonde, he always comes up with a smear or streak of goo on him.  So definitely need to find a stream/lake/ocean to wash off before getting back into the truck.

Actually yesterday, He was sniffing and I knew what was up, told him NO and tried to figure out what it was,  didn't look like poop, maybe a dead slug???

I had a little white mutt as a kid. One day we went to my grqandparents on the farm and of course when the car door opened Snuffy took off on the dead run. We were just finishing unpacking the car when my little white dog came running up and she was GREEN and STUNK. She had found a cowpie to roll in. She got a good cold bath under the pump. My dad was very upset set - I thought she went punk!

Ok- here's a tip for all the single male triathletes.  If you want to pick up chicks, bring your dog with you everywhere- especially if you're running.  Us girls love it, and it's a good reason for us to start talking to ya!

Came around the corner on Park last week and there was the cutest Mom cat with about 5 kittens crossing the road. Now I am pretty out of it when I run so I thought it was odd that they all had stripes down there back. Mani-Nana was trying to pull me off my feet to get them and it hit me. Those ARE NOT CATS! I came to a dead stop and backed up slowly. Toe of the babies turned butts toward me but as soon as we backed up they continued on their way.

I come around that corner now in the middle of the road so I have a better line of sight.

I have no idea why they want to roll in every dead thing they see. Jesse was like that, Mani-Nana would not bring herself to stop running long enough to be bothered. Thank goodness.

tupuppy - 2005-07-27 8:47 PM  His tail get to wagging so hard it throws his hips side to side and I think he's going to pop a hip joint.

We fondly call that the "butt wag." Cadie does it when she's super excited.  After being gone for 7 days, I got a full butt wag when I got home. Butt wags are saved for very very special occasions.

My pup is recovering from surgery (STILL) and hasn't been able to run with me since I started running.  We are working our walking distance and frequency back up tho...so far, so good. She gets excited about my running shoes, but has learned that the bike bottles mean she stays home.  But, she makes sure that I see her mope about it. Dogs are awesome.

I love my dog too! See the pic below! He's the best-he'd run with me I think, but I'm nervous to run with him, I know, I know, I've talked with the vet about it, about working him up to a distance, but I get nervous when he starts to get hot...he can't say, whoa mom, I'm feeling a little heatstroke coming on...

And, I get so frustrated when I see people running with their dogs (on longer runs) and not carrying water! Hello, when your dogs tounge is almost touching the ground-time to take a break! I'm sure that these people love their dogs as much as I love mine, or they wouldn't be running with them, and I hope that they are stopping to take breaks when I can't see them.
Yes, I'm pretty sensitive about animals, dogs esp.

I like this thread! Love seeing all the cute puppies!
