Hike the whole AT

Travel all over the world

MT Everest, KIlamajaro

Kona

Ton of Ultra Marathons

Retire somewhere tropical

I'm starting to think we need to get a BT group together to hike the AT

I am about 16 years out but I am game then!

Well there is always section hiking in the meantime.

This is true. I have not been on the actual trail for three years. Planning to go back in November hopefully but just depends on any late season races so a BT hike would be awesome!

At age 60 I have always been an adventurer doer type of person.  Everything that I have ever dreamed of doing I have done in whole or in part, even down to participating in the Senior Olympics and qualifying for the National Games, (never made the International ones).

I have been under the sea, over the mountains, and up in the wild blue.

Even though I lived on a boat for most of my youth, I want desperately to sail around the world on a yacht for at least a year with no place special to go.

Space travel would be nice, but I will probably be dead before that comes to John Doe types.

So for now, I guess we will leave the neon of Las Vegas, and move back to a So Cal beach and play in the ocean.

I have done so much already in my young life but still have a few things i want to do. Use to do alot of sailing, so i would do a regatta sailing race. Go to my home country of portugal and cycle along the entire coastline. Run an ultra marathon. Compete in the marathon des sables in the sahara desert (2014). Eventually (within 10 years) give everything i own to my sister and finish completing my training as a buddhist monk and live out the rest of my life in a monastery.

Training wise, I would like to do:

*Copenhagen Marathon
*any 100 mile ultra
*IM/irondistance in under 15 hours(yeah, I am slow)
*be able to not worry about what is on that scale-be at a low healthy weight without feeling deprived

Life wise:
*Pay off my house and be able to go down to part time
*Get out of health care, work with animals and still be able to pay the bills
*Rescue pitbulls
* Not live pay check to paycheck, not worry about money so much

I would like to:

  • complete a couple iron distance triathlons
  • complete multiple ultra distance marathons up to and including 100 miles
  • ride the KATY Trail out and back in 5 days, unsupported
  • take a month or more to travel around Europe with my wife
  • travel to New Zealand and Australia with my wife
  • attend multiple days of the Tour De France
  • ride up the Alp de Huez

That's the top of the list, right now.
