In six years I've not had a speck of poison ivy, I don't know if that's because I just don't get it or if the fears are overblown. I do bring two to three pairs of old shoes and socks (depending on how many muddy legs I'm running) and leave them behind in the closest dumpster.

Trixie, I hope someone relies to your post!!

I will be out there with my mom and my camera - we will be judging the costume and theme competitions - my official volunteer position this year - so I hope you all bring it big in the theme competition.  Per the site:

Dirt Passion (Creative Team Vehicle & Theme Awards): 5 deep! First Place includes free entry next years Dances with Dirt! All winning teams get cool stuff. Other surprise awards during the race for cool teams and outrageous behavior.

I am not above being bribed by baked goods and beer tomorrow!

no poison ivy, but I'm scraped and scratched all to hxll! And I lost my custom orthotics when a teammate threw out what he thought was garbage but was really my muddy stinky stuff. Any advice on where to take my prescription and foot casts would be appreciated!!

That was SO much fun!  I spent most of my runs up to my arse in either poison ivy or mud (or both!).  Body is totally stiff today.  We need a BT team next year (or 2!).

LOVED IT!!!

I ran with team Pretty 'N Gritty, and we had a ball. The Captain took mercy on me as the newbie and gave me rather tame legs this year (#3, #11 and the final leg). No mud for me, but plenty of rocks, sticks, logs, poison ivy and sweat!

Saw plenty of great costumes and it was so much fun. I can't wait to do it again next year!!

Lana, that WAS you!!!  I was the one that gave you the margarita shot!!!  And did we win anything with the costume contest?  We were one of the last teams across the finish line so we didn't know if we won anything.
