Subject: RE: Weekly BT Therapy Session- Company Christmas PartySame boat, but I've already decided to go it solo for this year (sorry, Haley! )
When I lived in Boston I had a couple of professional guy friends in pocket I could trot out for this sort of thing. But that firm knew how to throw a party, i have to say. Okay reminiscing now... one was a GREAT date, he was a very classy and handsome Australian physicist, we had been friends for a few years and felt very comfortable around each other, I got the most glammed up I've probably ever been in my life, we could walk to the venue from my house in the Back Bay, it was actually a GOOD PARTY and I took a bunch of pictures of my co-workers looking their absolute best and actually having fun with their spouses, which I later framed and gave to them for Christmas... and an unexpected snowstorm blew in that night leaving us to RUN home through snow laughing the whole way! With me in heels, wearing only his suit jacket over my sleeveless slinky gown and him in his shirt soaked through -- I had to lend him my LLBean parka with the sleeves that hit just past his elbows so HE could walk home. What a night.
Ahem. But I digress...
Here the parties are "eh" and I have only one single male friend close enough who'd be passable in this crowd, and I used him last year. Rats. He'd love to come again (for the food, of course ), but if I show up with the same one twice, well, you know how it goes. They all remember him because he's a good dancer. The year before that the guy was NOT passable... and I figured it out too late! Oops, live and learn. Hey, I still work here.
Go, and Godspeed.
