You're right about it being residential- it absolutely is. There is a road that runs down to the river off the main neighborhood street to the left about halfway up through the neighborhood that leads down to the boat ramp. Transition is set near here in the grass beside this little road. But the race is definitely right in the middle of a neighborhood.

When I look on a map, I can see what looks like a little road going down to the river just past Harbour Place (where the condos are), but I didn't see any road going down to the river when I was there.  Maybe I didn't go down far enough.   Where the heck do they park everyone? I'm hoping it will be obvious on race day!

Are you racing?

People in the past parked at the Clubhouse, which is at the entrance of the neighborhood (this is where packet pick-up and the post-race events are held) but I can't imagine there are enough parking spots there for everyone. I would imagine a lot of people parking along the main road through the neighborhood.

From my memory, your description of the road sounds correct. It is very near the condos.

I'll be driving down from Florence (KY) to do this race. I noticed during the IMKY last year - there were many Cardinal Harbour markings on the road (Much of the course is the same). TimDude - Is that pic of you from the L'ville half or full marathon?

The bike is a good prep for IMKY. It has some of the infamous out/back hill section. And some gentle rollers along 42. The run was just so darn hot last year.

2 weeks to go!

I have heard that this race isn't supported all that well so I was considering bringing all my hydration for the bike with me and then wearing a Fuel Belt on the run. Can someone who had done this race confirm or deny the support?

Thanks!

One of the people that did this race last year (Maura) posted some helpful info in the Cardinal Harbour race talk thread: here

The run was fairly well done. There were 2-3 stops, but you passed each one several times. I honestly can't remember much about the bike portion and them having anything. It seems like there may have been one spot on the bike, but its not like an IM where there was one every 9 miles or so.

Just saw this from the RD:
"Cardinal Harbour is now sold out. We have reached our limit of 300 athletes. It should be a great race. It looks like Maximilian Longree, last year Ironman Louisville winner will be there."

Yes it is, I was training for the full until my training fell apart, so I did the half, nice flat easy run.

Anyone else notice that this race seems to be screwed up in the BT race listing?

BT has the race listed twice:
- once on Saturday, July 18 at Oly distance
- again on Sunday, July 19 at HIM distance

Neither of these is correct, I think.  It should be HIM distance on Saturday July 18, right?

Perfect weather for today temperature wise. A bit windy though. All of those wanting some weather simulation to go with the course simulation will most likely be disappointed though. Still better than last year though.

Can anyone verify the distance on the run for me for the Cardinal Harbor HIM?  I was told by one person it was only 11.16 miles and by another it was 12.5.  I really would like to know the actual distance to know what kind of pace I was doing on the run.  I also heard the swim was short as well.
