Two possibilities- 1. As the temps cool off and people get colds there could be a second wave. Or 2. The effect of herd immunity will begin to show up and numbers will drop significantly. I guess we just have to wait and see. I think there will be a seasonal uptick as has been expected for a long time. Schools, back to "normal"...it's inevitable. Concern here is it will hit with the Flu season and it will be hard to figure what is what. On the other hand, we have 5 deaths a day, not 1000 like you guys. My guess is we want have much of a flu season due to the number of people wearing masks now. In theory, the masks should also reduce the flu. Agreed. They also expect a lot more people will get vaccinated against the flu. Masks, people being more careful, vaccines....it all adds up |

Extreme Veteran 5722 | Subject: RE: Biden gaff du jour Originally posted by Left Brain Covid came to my family. One daughter had it, wife likely but didn't get tested. I never got it. Meh. If there was no TV they would have all said they had summer colds. I suppose I've been exposed to so much crap over the years that a virus just avoids me. Grand-ma OK ? |

Other cities actually took his statue down Montreal is pretty well known for trouble makers that will take any legit protest and turn it into vandalism. |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Biden gaff du jour I watched Biden’s speech yesterday mainly to see him flounder. He did not disappoint. “ Biden having a hard time pronouncing words in his speech today. "Trade diffi-deficit" "Pharmaceutical indusse" "Prices on prescription jugs" Says Trump is "trying to do away with all health care in America."” To be fair, I do find jugs to be medicinal. ;-) Keep in mind, this speech was 100% reading off the teleprompter. I tried to keep track of the number of times he coughed but lost count. Probably just a dry throat but come on man! Ironically Hillary had the same issue. I watch a video this morning with someone who claims to have “inside knowledge” of the Biden campaign who said there is serious concern about the rate of decline of Biden’s mental acuity. I take this with a grain of salt as I suspect it is fatigue. When I went tru OCS they induced stress in Officer Candidates thru sleep deprivation. I’ve been told or read that lack of sleep is the single biggest contributed to stress. My wife is a living example. When she gets tired, or hungry for that matter, she gets very irritable - with “irritable” being the kindest word I could think of to use. If I were advising Biden I’d suggest taking a week off before the election to relax. Turn off the TV, spend some time with the family and rest. |

Turn off the TV, spend some time with the family and rest. I agree Plus, Biden isn't the one beating Trump. Agreed. The press is beating Trump. The non-stop barrage of anti-Trump hit prices is beating Trump. That is, IF the people are buying it. RE my advice....the left never takes my advice and they will run Biden ragged with calls for him to go to Kenosha and other places to keep up with Trump. In most years I don’t thinks the debates have much weight but this year might be different. Rest assured the Trump campaign is loading Trump up with one-liners to push Biden’s buttons. If he is smart, he will ignore them and not take the bait...but history show he will take the bait and run with it. Should be fun to watch. At this point I almost don’t care what happens. If Biden win and the far left take over it will be the end of the Democrats. It Trump wins it will signal the end of the Democrats is already hear. |

A minority of people treat it "like the flu". And a huge majority believe he mishandled it. He hoped it wouldn't be the main thing on people's mind but it is. Most politicians around the world got a bounce from their handling of Covid. Not Trump because he handled it differently and looking at the results, very poorly. |

Master 1324 Rochester, NY | Subject: RE: Biden gaff du jour Not sure that the press is beating Trump as much as all his lies are starting to catch up. Its amazing that it took this long. Speaking of gaffes, did you see Donald and Melania's attempt at the Pledge of Allegiance today? Donald couldn't remember the right words. She didn't even try. |

Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: Biden gaff du jour Trump wins in a walk.....easily exceeding his electoral count of 2016. For forks sake.....he's running against a guy who can't function on his own. The Dems were insane nominating that guy. LMAO You are likely watching the end of the Democrat Party in this country. They've moved too far left, and the Reps have moved far enough left to attract enough voters. Next time around it'll be Socialists vs. the rest of us. |

Anyone who thinks Biden is the real candidate deluding themselves. Good point. She got ahead of herself yesterday when she said: “A Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States,...” I predicted several months ago they would replace him before the election. Kinda late for that now so I guess the Dems best best is to get Biden elected and after a couple of months tell him to step down so Harris can take over. |

She can then finish his term and 2 full terms of her own. |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Biden gaff du jour Just listened to Biden give a speech. Pretty much the exact speech he gave last week. He said he would not raise taxes on anyone who makes less than $400k and then ad libbed “which I don’t make and you probably don’t make”. So I looked up his income and found this: “Joe and Jill Biden made more than $15 million in two years after leaving the White House, tax returns show“ Oops |
