Subject: RE: Chaska SprintThoughts on the race: Well-organized. Run seemed shorter than 5k (that or I set a 5K PR on a hilly run course ) Bike was hilly, but really enjoyable - nice roads. Never see Javelin bikes, but saw two others besides mine today. I like to hear Jerry McNeil announcing AND doing awards. He cracks me up. I thought giving the $500 gift certificate to the guy in the front that kept asking for it was hokey. The bike racks were really solid - unlike many of the ones used at other races. The clayhole was much better to swim in that I expected. The swim felt longer than advertised. More like .35 or .4. Was surprised that there was no t-shirt, but I like the socks and my wife liked the bag. The meal was unexpected - a nice surprise. Coffee mugs instead of medals for age group awards seemed like a silly thing to do. The plaques for the top male and female were nice, though. I would definitely do this race again. |
