Very cool! So that's a 200 ft climb on the start of the run? Piece of cake. Tongue out

Hey, it's also a 200ft descent on the way home!  I suggest you don't drive into Chaska coming south on 41, the mile of cones going down the hill is a little intimidating!

I'm pretty sure you can walk 50% of the swim course, that is if your feet don't sink in the mud!

The downhill makes everything worth it.  Just think, once you get that huge hill at the start there's no more uphills to worry about.

This is a great Tri.  I think anyone in the area should give it a shot.  Very well organized and a lot of fun.

Is anyone wearing a wetsuit for this?  I'm kind of undecided.

i probably will, i have one so I might as well use it, thats why i bought it right!
I feel like it helps my swim more than the few seconds it takes to rip it off

if anything it will keep me warm out of the water, sounds like it will be a cool morning!

It has been pretty cool at night (low to mid 50s) and the highs have only been in the 70s and with a forecast high of only 63(!) tomorrow, I think the water temp will barely be 70.  I plan on wearing mine.

Good point, it is going to be pretty cool in the morning I imagine.  I just didn't want to be the only one in a wetsuit!

Wussies!!!  I only say that because I don't have one and will probably be the guy (along with my brother and friend Andrew) shivering our butts off. This same thing happened earlier this year on a different triathlon. I ended up getting so cold before the start that my swim was pretty bad. How can a guy who doesn't have a wetsuit stay warm before the race start? That would be besides getting a wetsuit as they don't grow on trees, nor does the money to get one. Cry

Oh, I also wanted to say that I'll be looking just like the guy to the left and will be in the 30-34 group. If you see me say hi! I'd love to meet some folks from the forum. Very excited about the race tomorrow even if it is freezing!

Here is what my bike looks like now.

If When you pass me on the bike.... be nice
If When you pass me on the run.... make sure I have a pulse!

Thoughts on the race:

Well-organized.
Run seemed shorter than 5k (that or I set a 5K PR on a hilly run course)
Bike was hilly, but really enjoyable - nice roads.
Never see Javelin bikes, but saw two others besides mine today.
I like to hear Jerry McNeil announcing AND doing awards.  He cracks me up.
I thought giving the $500 gift certificate to the guy in the front that kept asking for it was hokey.
The bike racks were really solid - unlike many of the ones used at other races.
The clayhole was much better to swim in that I expected.
The swim felt longer than advertised.  More like .35 or .4.
Was surprised that there was no t-shirt, but I like the socks and my wife liked the bag.
The meal was unexpected - a nice surprise.
Coffee mugs instead of medals for age group awards seemed like a silly thing to do.  The plaques for the top male and female were nice, though.

I would definitely do this race again.

That was probably the only age group award I will ever win, so I wasn't thrilled with a coffee mug, but I'll take it!  The 25-29 group let me squeek into second!  Perfect day for a race though, I thought it went fairly smoothly.
