hehe....actually I am surprised that someone (Jim) didn't somehow make it Bush's fault! HA!

Well...I'll go out on a limb and guess that Phil's politics lean right...

Ya think?

It's just a guess...I could be wrong.

What Lara said.  More camera time, the better.

I watched the last few holes and I totally got a kick out of the people who worked on the course.  They were holding their arms up and down to keep the crowd back and quiet, and they looked like oompaloompas.  Not a serious response, but choking is never a pretty.  The mind is sometimes the greatest oponent and it seems he's been battling this for years. Bummer!

Pained me that the announcer kept saying Mel-BORN, AU.  MelBIN, geesh!

I love watching Phil, yea he makes stupid mistakes but that is what makes him fun to watch. As a golfer, I agree he should have put the driver away (or Bones should have done it for him -caddie) but that is what makes it fun, he pull it out and you go :what are you doing"... If he would have made the fairway, everyone would have been talking about what a great ball striker he is.

I just think they need to make it a rule that he needs to start wearing a bra with those man boobies he has...

Agreed.  Nothing pissy on this end either.

What else are we supposed to do?  Work or be productive?  This is way more fun.

Rocket Man - 2006-06-19 9:23 AM What amazes me is the two of you getting pissy with each other over this.....goes to show that you really can't say anything in COJ without it turning controversial.

Derek and I are enjoying a spirited debate, not pissy nor controversial.  If we wanted pissy and controversial, we'd discuss this month's Cosmo quiz

I have never seen Lost.

I completely agree with the man-boobie comment.  After Phil hit his shot away from the club house his nipples were actually pointy, really pointy  GROSS!  My father and I were on the phone during Phil's condundrum, and all I could notice were the oompaloopa like course people and Phil's nipples. Even my dad commented on them.  Also, he didn't even take pause before going at the crater-like hole his ball made in the sandtrap; he just hacked right at it.  Too hard......missed the green again.  Nipples again.  I believe his nipples are complete indicator of when he'll choke.  I bet there's plenty of footage to prove my theory.

Can we dig on Olgilvy's wife?  I'm sure she's a great person and she seems very supportive, but he's a lot better looking than she is.  I wonder how that works out?

Maybe she has mad skills? Yeah...it's usually the other way around...goofball guy gets hot chick. I've never understood how that happens.

I just got an email from my new work.  I start Monday.  It's about a networking golf meating.  POOP.  I've only been golfing twice in my life.  I never thought that at my age I would need to golf for work.  I guess I better start hitting the links.

Put Furyk right in that group of "woulda coulda" too.  Missing that putt on the 18th hole kept him out of a potential playoff.  He'll be thinking about that for a while...especially after backing off it a couple times and trying to decide on the line.  Hell, I coulda kicked that one in with my left foot while eating a hush puppy and swiggin' a dr. pepper.

Well, Phil said it best himself in an interview afterwards I think:

I'm an idiot: Mickelson
Tuesday, 20 June 2006 @ 7:45 AM
sportal.com.au

US Open runner-up Phil Mickelson has described himself as an 'idiot' after double bogeying the last hole to hand Geoff Ogilvy his maiden Major victory.

The World No.2 was in disbelief after shooting a six at the 72nd hole to give the Australian a win a one shot win, Ogilvy finishing at five-over.

"I still am in shock that I did that, I just can't believe that I did that, I'm such an idiot," Mickelson said.

"I couldn't hit a fairway all day and I tried to go to my bread and butter shot which is just a big baby carve slice on 18 and just get it in the fairway and I missed it left."

After four days of tough golf at Winged Foot, Mickelson felt he had done enough to win until his meltdown at the 18th.

"I came out here and worked so hard so many days, I hadn't made a bogey all week and then bogeyed the last hole, I just can't believe it," he said.

"I mean even a bogey would have got me into a playoff and I just can't believe I did that."

The win would have made Mickelson holder of three of the four golfing Majors, with only the British Open not in his grasp.

"As a kid I dreamt of winning this tournament," he said.

"I just can't believe I couldn't par the last hole, it really stings."

I TIVO'ed the final round and did not have a chance to watch it for myself until last night.  Having viewed the final 3 holes, I retract any defense of Phil and assert that he is prolly the biggest choke artist on tour.

Ditto on Oglivey's wife...I'm thinking she was the only XX chromosome that supported him when he was a struggling hack and he's now stuck with her out of obligation.  If he was smart enough to sign a pre-nup, I expect to some some eye candy on his arm next April in Augusta.

LMAO...hey they  said conditions were "hard and fast" so I'm figuring I wouldn't have sunk in more than an inch or so.  Good aeration for the greens!
