I'm in for Giants, but what do we do for multiple person cheering sections. I've always wanted a BT shirt!

dhlundblad - 2004-09-17 3:02 PM Wondered when you would show up here, Ellen! (o: D

I have to admit that I don't follow the National League all that much, so all the Dodger/Giant talk hasn't done much for me.

Lara and Dana,

What do you mean, Go Sox.  That stings coming from you two. I know that Ellen is a Yankee hater but you too!

whoa, little doggie!! i most definitely did not express any anti-yankee sentiment within these posts!! (even if i may have been thinking them!) i mostly follow the national league. so don't have strong sentiments about the yankees until post season time, and then, well... i begin to burn steinbrenner in effigy over my open flame stove, but that's IT--and only to be expected!!

In case some of you missed in last night, since the Giants aren't on TV too much, they won again, and the Dodgers lost AGAIN, the lead is now down to 1/2 game with a big series this weekend in San Francisco.  WWWWHHHHOOOOWWWWAAAA

And Shawn Green won't be in the lineup on Saturday.  And in case you Dodger fans missed it, trading LoDuca and Mota was a bad call.  They aren't getting anything out of Penny because again he is going to be back on the shelf.  What ever happened to the Dodger dominate Starters??  Oh yeah they got old (Nomo and Alvarez), left (Brown), or just aren't doing what they have done in the past (Ishii and Jackson)

But here come the Giants, who have turned out to be more than a Barry and Jason show down the stretch.  Tomko and Lowry and dominating, and tonight Schmidt, plus Hennessey has been contributing too.  And all this talk about poor hitting, The Giants have 5 guys with over 70 RBIs, only one other team has those kind of numbers; the Cardinals.

So to close, they are getting white hot to close out the year, so the MLB better look out for the Big Orange machine in the rear view (They are closer than they appear)

P.S. I grew up in NY a Yankees fan but have seen the error of my ways -- BAN THE DH!!! From the other side though I'm pulling for the Red Sox as I went to college in Beantown and have seen how those fans have suffered!

Yes it does. It's the rule. Here's a real Red Sox fan web site.

I pledge allegiance to the fans, of the entire Red Sox nation. And to the Fenway faithful, in all the stands. One team, under Terry, unbeatable. With offense, and pitching - Play ball.

OK Sox fan, I do want you to beat the Evil Empire, but look at the sandings and the schedule, without a sweep of the Yankees, just look forward to the WC series.  In a short series with Curt and Pedro you will be tough though.  Even with an AL East title.

Next year the East better look out for the Orioles.  If they get some pitching they will be tough.  And I don't mean the fat pitcher pitching of Sidney "ate too much Vegimite" Ponson

Gotta say that this actually made me sick... and I haven't finished my coffee yet! See you in the playoffs. -Dedicated Yankees Fan

This season has been incredibly hard on this Mariner fan....Thank goodness Ichiro showed up to keep us watching.

I saw this joke in Kids Sports Illustrated:

Q: What's the difference between a Fenway Park hot dog and a Yankee Stadium hot dog?

A: You can buy a Yankee Stadium hot dog in October.

All righty then...so the series starts this evening.....I got a handle on some tickets for tomorrow's game but alas, friends have decided to come visit so I will be relegated to watching Fox Sports to get the blow by blow (dammit all to hell!!! who needs friends anyway?????)

1.5 games out, they are....
could be a change in the standings?
maybe, maybe not....

The only thing that sucks is my new bf Reuter (after timmy left I kinda rebounded into that one) is starting for the Giants....sigh, gotta go for that big-eared, kinda cute look, but I will stay strong...don my dodger cap this weekend....(am sending friends with tickets to the game in dodger caps) and will hopefully not be bleeding dodger blue on monday....

I WANT TO GO TO THE GAME!!! I LOVE THAT PARK!!!! I LOVE THE BEER!!!! I LOVE THE COMRADERIE!!!!

this Monday will show who has bragging rights I guess....

Yee who holds the crown shall be king, and thy king shall be thee with the king of all hitters.

And we aren't talking Beltre or Green (he won't even be there on Saturday)

I agree with Shawn about taking the day off, but you know that some of his teammates aren't soo happy about it.

I'd be willing to bet a BT t-shirt on the outcome of the series.....or shall we wait to see LA take NL West? Your call...

The original bet was the NL West.  And we have a tougher closing schedule that you guys.  So I am sticking with the original bet.

Went up to Toronto yesterday with my sister in law for the final game of the season. The only starter left in the game Bernie hit the game winning homer. Kind of felt ripped off that I paid so much money to watch a bunch of triple A kids play but we had a great time.

Only 11 more wins until we get that championship that has eluded us for the last two years. Can't imagine how those Red Sox fans feel with thier prolonged absence from the world series.
