this is where the men are seperated from the boys. Agrituble will be falling back in the GC like a rock in the ocean. It was nice to see them up frount when they could, and maybe they can hang on long enoug to finish the tour as a team.

I think I passed an Agritubel rider in Pennsylvania today. That would explain why I can't find them on the TV. Musta took a wrong turn somewhere!

I decided that my TdF specialty would be chasing down breakaway people and then fading off the back end of the peleton. It is amazing how much energy I can muster when I am chasing someone....especially when they have no idea I am chasing them. Those little old folks on their cruiser bikes never know where I came from!

daspanglers - 2007-07-17 3:05 PM I'm looking to get in 3 exercise sessions each week. Now that I got the go ahead from the doc to ride my bike, it should be easier!

Spank - based on this I will put you on the challenge for 8: 2 from last week plus 3 a week for the next two weeks... if this doesnt work for you please let me know...

Johnny Bee - we need your committment for the challenge... I know its hard with an injury so hapy if you need to be conservative..

Breezy did an awesome job getting the results in early for the team.. but I cant declare you the leaders without commitments   (yes... Im trying to motivate you)

Don't think we're not gonna try and get your #1 parking spot because of the handicapped sticker on your car ... we see how you are infecting the TdF favorites with your black (and blue and purple, ouch) voodoo to get ahead ... we're not only onto you, we're pulling ahead!

Newbie Barloworlder blasts the competition -- alone!!! Here at BT, we're doing it together ... watch our wake. Overzealous to the point of impropriety ... and victory.

Subject: RE: Agritubel Team Thread

Hi - there has been a few requests in the last 24 hours to STOP posting live TDF updates in team threads. This is due to a lot of people wanting to watch the action later in the day WITHOUT knowing the results.

Would enough people be interested in taking the live action related discussions to another thread out of the team threads to avoid this issue? Team leaders can you please let me know?

I must admit Im probably the most guilty of this as I genuinely want teams to know whats happening with their pro counterparts to really get into it... and with me watching it live til 2am then heading straight it bed I get REALLY excited and post results...

But... its more a time difference related head spin. I totally understand having to delay watching the action... I know not everyone can devote their whole life to TDF action for a month!

So my suggestion... is this....

1) No results from the previous nights stage will be posted in any Team thread until the next days stage starts... giving everyone 24 hours to watch the action or at least KNOW what to expect

2) Set up a seperate TDF Challenge - Live Action thread for teams to talk about their pro riders... (if there is enough interest)

3) If teams are happy to have stage updates posted in their Team thread let me know and I will continue - otherwise 24 hour code of silence applies to EVERYONE taking part in the challenge

What do you all think?

I have no problem with the idea of a seperate live thread to keep the updates out of the eyes of the work challenged

Ok as I mentioned earlier I have set up a thread to discuss the results of your team in the tour... its in the challenge forum and I suggest you use it to talk about the teams successes and make sure everyone else see's it!!

As I suggested earlier there is to be no talking about the previous stage in team threads UNTIL the next stage commences.... (24 hours ish)

Please get in on the action its been very entertaining so far, and remember to take it in the spirit of fun and team spirit it is intended.

Happy Cycling

Hey there team!

I need to make it to the team thread more often, obviously.

I guess 12 stages is about right for me - couple rides / couple swims each week. Hope to do more, but we'll see.

Got a 50-miler in this morning - longest ride of the year. Did it to inspire my boy Rasmussen (even though he is not one of us, he is my ace-in-the-hole in the Performance fantasy game). A little brisk when I left the house at 4:30 am (wouldn't have killed me to throw on toe covers), but felt pretty darn good.

Did anyone notice that Agritubel isn't even the lowest in the team standings? We are beating Milram and FDJ, and they are both Protour teams!

Go us!

This is my accounting of the week's results:

OnTheRun 2 stages (6 in all for 50% of goal)
Daspanglers 4 stages (6 in all for 67% of goal)
JohnnyBee 4 stages (6 in all for 50% of goal)
Breezy 5 stages (13 in all for 87% of goal)

Avg goal completion = 65%

To meet your goals, Ontherun and JohnnyBee have to get in 6 stages each this next week!
Daspanglers needs 3 and I need 2 more stages.
