Continuing the Keanu hijack: All anyone needs to know about Keanu Reeves' acting career is contained in his role in the movie 'Parenthood'. In that movie, in that role, he is perfect. That's the only role he can play. Every other role he has had since then he has been good or bad in direct proportion to the similarity of the character he is playing in another movie to the character he played in Parenthood. I'm telling you it's the truth. If you haven't seen that movie it's worth seeing even if you don't like him (he has a smaller role in the movie). I think it's a very underappreciated movie. Worst Actor: Peter Greene (bad guy in The Mask) I realize he's not a "name" but if you want brutal, he's brutal.

DMX has gotta be up there for his attempts to venture into the acting world. At least most of the action guys you know can fight. And what's with all this gender discrimination? When are we going to get into the worst actresses? Jessica Simpson does a lot to eclipse any of these guys, of course that didn't stop me from watching Dukes of Hazzard 7-8 times. And by "watch" I mean skip the movie and go to the extras and play the "Boots are Made for Walking" video or repeat. And let's not forget Britney in Crossroads. Nancy Kerrigan on Saturday Night Live (although I'm not sure that counts). Anything Rosanne Barr has ever done. Let's be equal opportunity critics here guys... Male worst: That guy that played the cop in House of Sand and Fog. I laughed everytime he opened his mouth, b/c he was such a bad actor....it was at least some comic relief in a horribly depressing (although, not all that bad) movie. |

Lara - 2006-02-27 2:50 PM Parenthood is in my top 10 movies of all time.. it's the only good role Reeves has ever done.. i used to HATE Sean Penn.. then i saw I am Sam.. (or is it my name is sam).. anyway.. i've loved him since that movie.. maybe my tastes grew up a bit too.. I fell in love with Sean Penn as an actor after seeing 21 Grams. If you never saw the movie, I highly recommend it! |
