Subject: RE: Marine Corps Marathon : Official ThreadDid my long run yesterday, 20 miles of mixed road and gravel, the gravel being in the middle for about 8 miles. Some Achilles pain for a couple miles after the gravel, then just general foot/ankle pain, but nothing new for me at this point. For all the nutrition questions, I must be lucky, I don't have stomach issues with eating on the course, at least not coming back up... My planning is more about pre-race meals, and getting the other end business taken care of. Lately it takes me about a 10 mile warm up to get the other end going... And yesterday I decided to try not eating anything on the run; I had a granola bar just in case, but ended up only having about 24 Oz of water. Some banana-date bread for breakfast, and that was about it. I really didn't feel any different on the run. First time for MCM, second marathon ever. Just going out to have fun, no real pressure. |
