If you've never been to a game in person, you'll see why people love hockey. There is nothing like a playoff game in person. For some reason the game doesn't translate well to TV. I hope you have a good time.

I'll chime in... I have zero interest in hockey (or football or baseball) but "Hockey Haiku" is a damn good/funny thread title. Reminds me of our absent JustJester... *sniff sniff*

Please continue.

Hockey is one of the few sports that is infinitely better to watch at the stadium instead of TV. You just see the guy with the puck on TV. In person you get to see how the lines work together, it's hard to describe - and you can't throw beer cups at your TV.

My hockey haiku:

Norm still sucks.

Too bad all I can afford are the pre-season tickets.

Peter Bondra, Ilya Kovalchuk (if we ever get him signed), Slava Kozlov,Bobby Holick...now that is a pretty darn good team. But I won't sit here and pretend to know as much about hockey as you Canucks do!!

Deal....which ever team goes farther in the playoffs....or if they should meet for the big punch bowl at the end of the season, whomever loses has to take a pic WEARING SWIMWEAR and holding a sign that says "Rocket Man is my daddy" or "Misscullen Rules" whichever the case may be, and has to keep that as their avatar for 30 days!!

To make you feel better. Kind of.

Hey there, Bertuzzi

Any broken necks this year?

Yes, you're an asshole.

Signed,

A (still) bitter Avs fan.

I'm sorry you're still bitter.. I understand.. but I love Todd, and he had a rather disastrous lapse of reasoning..   I'm willing to forgive..  However had one of our no-name third liners took a run at Sakic, and then got a beating by Hejduk, I wouldn't be upset. However, sucks that it turned out as bad as it did..

Y'know Recently signed avs player Brad May, openly taked about retrubution on Moore before the incident.

Gotta throw my hat in...

First off, I don't think Moore made a run at Naslund.  Moore was going in for a legitimate, open-ice check on Naslund.  Naslund, in trying to stop, starts falling backwards.  Moore, who doesn't change course, hits Naslund.  Naslund continues falling, hits head on ice.  I don't think Moore had any malicious intentions.  Hockey is a damn fast game, especially at that level.  So to say that all of that could have been intentional on Moore's part is bullsh*t!  His intentions were to make a check - end of story!  So back to that night - yes Brad May said some stuff in the heat of the moment IMMEDIATELY after game in which it happened when emotions and adrenaline were all still running high.  Things were said that got played out and played out and played out in the media.  Frankly the thing that pissed me off more than anything is that it became a BIGGER deal because it was MARKUS NASLUND - oooooooohhhhh.  So what?!?!?  He's no different than Joe Fourth-line who puts his skates and sweater on just the same as Naslund.  I don't care if you're a superstar or not, suit up and play the f**kin' game.  Did the Canucks feel they wanted retribution on Moore because of what they FELT was a cheap shot?  You bet your bippie!  So would I.  Did it play much much worse than was intended?  Abso-f**kin'-lutely!!  It was a series of unforeseen and even more unfortunate events that took place that night at GM Place, but I don't think the results of what transpired were ANYBODY'S intention - even Bertuzzi's.  I think Bertuzzi is truly sorry for what happened.  I think Brad May is too.  Hell, I'm even thinking about buying a Brad May jersey, just to show that I support him as one of our players.Yeah, I'm an Avs fan, and I'm over the whole thing and moving on.  Just glad that hockey is being played this year.

Kupe

Kupe, all fired up!

I haven't seen that kind of passion on these boards in ...oh, 30 min

Nice to see another hockey fan here. Looks like all we need is a Redwings fan (present) and we will have one hell of a great season.
