Ok I will offer to have the first book club meeting... So far those interested in reading and discussing (others can come and drink if they choose):

Sure I would rather do it mid-week because it may be easier to schedule than on the weekend with races/traveling...

So I was thinking Wednesday nights.. Anyone have one to throw out there? We can do it at my house. I think mid-sept or later.

Book club, silly. I'm not the one that came up with the suggestion. But I was interested and did read the book. So if others are still game for discussion.

I am assuming that since no one has responded to this thread in awhile and now I am being put in charge, that interest is a negative.

Finally.  someone said the actual title.  All that has been said in the past is "David Sedaris' new book."

eh, who clicks on links.  I need everything spoon-fed to me.

With that said,

1. What was the book about?
2. Who were the major characters?
3. Any other stuff you can provide to make me seem (even more) intelligent would be appreciated. 

1. It's a book of short fictional essays

2. David Sedaris - and peeps he knows (his sis, his boyfriend, etc)

3. Read the dang book to find out.

So it is for those with short attention spans.  Makes sense, for this crowd. 

Sounds creepy that he makes up stories about his sis. 

Can I borrow someone's book? 

Yes, you may borrow my book, if you like. But I'm not going to have a book club with just you. Oh wait, TriMegger still wants to do it.

I think that if you pick a day, people will come.  I think everyone is still interested.  They just don't all have 9,205 9,206 9,207 posts in less than a year and don't post as much.
