I don't plan to do too many races this year, at least that's my initial thinking. I'm still in "just" focus on the run mode with the Louisiana half marathon a week a way. I plan to do the NOLA Olympic in March, Gulf Coast half in May, Augusta 70.3 in Sept and then IMFL in Nov. I'm sure I'll do a few local sprint tris as well, but those are the "big" ones that I've actually paid for and am registered for haha. |

Right now I have IMTX, Redman 70.3, and IMFL on the schedule. I'm sure I'll fit a few local sprints in there too. |

Thankfully I don't have weather to worry about, I've spent the month doing a virtual climb of Everest, 29029 ft of elevation gain over the month, I'm the equivalent of 26000ft up, planning a big day to finish on Saturday 3000ft ) |

Sounds intriguing! Training is going well, I'm trying to stick loosely with a HIM plan and then start a 24 week IM plan in May. It's winter here in Illinois, so outdoor workouts are few and far between. I did get a condo booked, right off of Joan Drive, so we will be close enough to the Boardwalk without being right in the middle of things. Am looking at getting a new tri bike this year too. I currently have a 2008 Giant Trinity Alliance. It's been a very good bike but I bought it used from a friend and even after a couple of fittings, it still doesn't fit me quite right. |

Our group is staying at Sugar Beach Condos, (found them through VRBO.com). They are listed as "pet friendly". Seems to be an older development but reviews are good and price is right. We liked that it was close to the race site without being in the middle of everything (if that makes sense). It looks like there are some condos available at that time: http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/florida/north-west/panama-... |

Master 2725 Washington, DC Metro | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2015 : Official Thread Alright so my winter and spring running schedule is complete and I can now focus on IM training! I have gotten a few rides in here and there, but nothing I'd really consider training. No swims thus far, that'll start this week. I'm starting to think that doing Eagleman (in 3 weeks) wasn't such a good idea. If nothing else, it'll be a good long training day for me. Looking forward to getting more ridding and swimming in, I'm pretty burnt out on the running. Hope training is going well for everyone. |

Member 14 Centerville, OH | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2015 : Official Thread Hi Folks!!!! This will be my third IM and 2nd Florida. Love that flat one loop bike!!! I'm looking for a little advice. I am currently in my second set of 4 weeks with no running and wearing a walking boot trying to heal a stress fracture. I was not patient, did not listen to my doc, and tried to run again way too soon. If I can run without pain by July 1st after almost 2.5 months of no running, do y'all think I'll be able to find my run fitness again in time? I'll pretty much be starting from scratch even with the cycling, swimming, and water jog, yes? Please stay safe out there as you get into your tri season!!!! |

489 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2015 : Official Thread Hope everyone's training is going well. I bailed off the bike from Challenge Roth at the weekend so that's focussed me big time into the next 16 weeks of training. From those that have done it before - a question about transitions. I completely change into bike gear and then running gear. In Europe no one cares about nudity so it's just like getting changed in your own home. Does the same apply in the US or do I need to do the towel dance to be more discreet? |

Extreme Veteran 1018 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2015 : Official Thread 2013. I was surrounded by sacks and a$$cracks. I didn't care. They didn't care. We were in "race" mode. Only people that may still have night terrors are the volunteers. Do your own thing. It's a long day and comfort trumps what somebody thinks about my twig and berries. |

Extreme Veteran 872 Tx | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2015 : Official Thread We are 16 weeks out! How is everyone's training going??? Would be interested to know what training plans everyone is following. I'm doing the BT beginner plan with HR but with some added biking and none of the strength training... unless someone wants to convince me that it's needed. ha. The TX humidity is killing me on runs right now. |

Training is going well. Have Redman 70.3 in a month and a half or so. I have a coach. |

The TX humidity is killing me on runs right now. I suppose training is going well -- with this being my first IM, there are a lot of unknowns. I'm using a coach from Training Peaks. Humidity in Central Illinois is awful as well, but probably nothing compared to TX |

Training is going well. Have Redman 70.3 in a month and a half or so. I have a coach. Same here! Will be at Redman in Sept., and I have a coach. The Louisiana heat and humidity has been challenging, who am I kidding, it's been BRUTAL! lol |

Extreme Veteran 872 Tx | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2015 : Official Thread I've had sickness/injury that caused me to miss 2 weeks of training. Just starting back up today and going to ramp up slowly so I don't re-injure (which is what I did last week). Great hearing all the updates. Keep kicking that humidity in the face! At least our race is late, so we'll be past the worst of it for our long training runs. Anne, if you have a coach for your first then that should be a huge plus as he/she can help you with all the unknowns. |
