Pro 4189 Pittsburgh, my heart is in Glasgow | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? I read the newspaper front to back every morning. To the point where I get up at 5 to do it. Then I go back through with a red pen and correct all of the AP style mistakes and general grammar mistakes. It's a journalist thing. |

Pro 4040 | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? I also like to have everything clean and put away before dinner. When I cook, I like to do all the prep before turning on the stove, and I place all of the cut veggies and meat in these little containers that we have so that I can add them when I need them. Also, when I go to the bathroom here at work, I wash my hands, then I use the paper towel that I dried them with to open the door (lots of people seem to think if you don't actually pee or poo on your hands, you don't need to wash them). Then after I go through the door to our office and sit down at my desk, I use hand sanitizer. I know it sounds like I'm a clean freak, but actually I just don't want to catch a virus from my unhygenic co-workers. |

Elite 2515 Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? max - 2005-11-30 6:55 AM I always split my muffin in half horizontally, eat the bottom half first, then save the crispy top half for last. Well then, TOP 'O THE MUFFIN TO YA! (Some people will get that one...) Probably the most OCD behavior I have is the paper currency system mentioned already. Bills must be all arranged to face the same way in order of denomination with the smallest bills on the outside folded in half with dead dude faces up. It probably drives people crazy that I rearrange my bills after I'm done with my purchase but at least I'm not taking TEN FREAKING MINUTES DIGGING IN MY CHANGE PURSE FOR SEVEN PENNIES WITH THIRTY PEOPLE IN LINE BEHIND ME!!! Ahhhh..... now I'm better... This might not be so strange but I can't leave a public bathroom without a thorough hand washing and some method of avioding hand to door handle contact. Too many guys using the bathroom and not washing their hands. YECH! I think it helps me avoid colds, too... |

Elite 2673 Muskego, WI | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? Opus - you don't sound like a clean freak, YOU ARE A CLEAN FREAK. Can't argue with the logic of it, though. To all the rest of you that leave your shoes tied up...you're barbarians. Do you walk around with your fly open all day because it's too much effort to zip up? |

Do you walk around with your fly open all day because it's too much effort to zip up? HA! That's so funny you say that! Frequently I don't actually do up my fly at home because, well, what's the point? It's ventilation just like the pit zips on my jacket. The problem arises when I go out when I hadn't intended to and walk around with my fly down. My wife finds it extremely funny when it happens. |

Opus, I'm not making fun of you, but the single ladies need to hear this, and hear it well. NOW you may wonder when it's appropriate to kiss. In the Opus household, AT SOME POINT, this conversation occurred. Wife of Opus (WOO): Hey, honey, your fly is down. Opus: Yea, I know. (keeps on doing what he's doing) WOO: Aren't you gonna zip it up? Opus: Nope (keeps on...) WOO: Can I ask why? Opus: eh, what's the point... WOO: (shakes her head and mumbles to herself) Welcome to the thrill of married life ladies. |

Expert 760 Mt. Morris, IL | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? I can't sleep at night unless I can tuck the covers under my feet like a sleeping bag. It drove my mom nuts when I was a kid (she made my bed) and makes my wife crazy today (she makes the bed and it screws up the sheets for her). Edited by nccgrap 2005-11-30 10:45 AM |

Queen BTich 12411 , | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? I do that too (flushing the toilets) and when I leave the bathroom I have to use a paper towel to pull open the door handle. If there are not towels, say just air dryers, I stand by the door until someone comes in or out and opens it for me. courtney_leone - 2005-11-30 11:44 AM I too am a germophobe. I flush public toliets with my shoe, I use my butt to open doors, or just one finger. I try to open doors near the bottom of the handle, where less people grab, grocery carts disgust me..... |

Master 2136 A Prairie Home | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? max - 2005-11-30 8:15 AM LOL this sounds like my wife's neice, only she's worse. If she has potatoes, peas, meat, or whatever on her dinner plate, all the food must remain separate...nothing can touch.... Yup, a food separatist. My bf is one of those people. He is especially particular about his rice. He always eats it last and untainted by other food. |

Elite 2768 Raleigh | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? Alright it is time I join this little parade of freaks and throw my name into the ring. Things I cannot allow to happen: Let other people use my hair brush Eat at a resturant where they throw the penuts on the floor (its food on the floor people) I always eat my food on my plate clockwise, eating one item at a time. let other people use my deoderant, even if we were dating and yours ran out. I always have to wash new clothes one time before I wear them after I buy them I refuse to wash my face with the same wash clothe I wash my butt with cannot stand for someone to get in my bed with socks on (after they have walk on a floor all day, look at the bottom of your socks and then tell me your getting in my clean bed... uh no) I always smell my food before I eat it the last thing I do when getting ready is brush my teeth There are many more that border on OCD but I will not let those of you who do like me think I am a total freak..... so I will leave them off. |

The Original 7834 Raleigh/Durham | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? I just thought of another one. When I get home from work, I have to change out of my work clothes. I can't sit around the house in work clothes!!! I usually change into a t-shirt, shorts/lounging pants, and my running socks (if I need socks). And I also have to put my hair up. Don't know why- but I can't relax until I change my clothes and put my hair up. I hate sitting around the house in jeans, dress pants, buttoon down shirts, etc...it's so no comfortable! |

Master 1468 Tampa, Fl | Subject: RE: Strange Habits- what are some of yours? I need everything in it's exact place or everything gets crazy. On my desk when I get home I put my wallet, watch, keys, business card holder, small notepad I keep in my breast pocket, and pen. If any of these things are missing or get out of order I go crazy trying to find it and retracing my steps. I carry the pad to write things down so I don't forget them, plus I like to feel like a detective questioning people. Also I can't carry a bunch of keys around. I have seven keyrings. On my primary keyring I have keys to house, car, mailbox and office; this is the one I carry all the time. I then have Mom's house keyring, Dad's house keyring, My back-up (copies of my primary keyring), Properties listed keyring (keys to properties I am trying to sell), Properties owned keyring (keys to my rentals), Finally I have my locks keyring (bike locks, gun locks). I keep these in a drawer and they are clearly labeled. I don't like it when a girl asks me to hold her keys and it is the size of a grapefruit. I have made my life a small keychain life and I wish others to respect that. |
