Ironically, I've been looking at this deal for some time and thanks to this thread I've finally pulled the trigger. Now I can't wait for my XXXX XXXXXXX to arrive in the next 5-10 days ;-) This is going to make training this Fall so much easier and although I'm sure riding a trainer for hours and hours is mind numbing it is better than nothing, right?

Thanks to the OP for asking the question and for all the follow up advice. I love this site!!!

Try this site , I've had them bookmarked based on some feedback for awhile now, they list the 07 KK road trainer at $275:

Lifestylesport states free SH and the trainer lists at $269 not $275 when you add it to a cart.

I like the concept of the KK Rock and Roll model. I wonder how well it feels and if the extra $30 is worth it or not?

I bought a new Cyclops Fluid 2 for $229 delivered from a bike store that regularly lists inventory on e-Bay ... and it has gotten me through thousands of miles.

When the tension handle broke 5 weeks before Ironman Florida, I went to the website to send them an e-mail, pleaded my case for a quick repair ... and they overnighted the replacement part at their expense.

Cylcops people rock.

Continuing the "solid store" angle, just returned a Joe Blow pump due to valve problems with Performance Bikes wondering whether they would let me exchange it or if I had to go through the manufacturer.  Even thought I have had it for a couple months, they gave me a full refund and let me buy a different pump that was on sale and therefore cheaper ... and then gave me the 10% Tuesday lunch special deal on top of that.

Performance Bike rocks.

Lastly, in terms of things to watch while on the trainer. I subscribe to Netflix and watch a new movie every week ... keeps your mind off of the workout by watching something fresh.  No late fees, ever.  When you are done with the movie, you put in the prepaid envelop and place in the mailbox.  Within 2 days you will receive the next movie you have placed in your queue.

Netflix rocks too.

ok, just an update

called back this morning and they evidently got a huge shipment in of the "secret" trainer and i ordered one up.   also got the computer for it and Spinerval DVD 13.

can't wait to get it next week.

now, another question....

should i put some type of mat down under the bike to keep it secure or does it stay in one place real good?   what does most people do?   anything else i need to go with the trainer?

The trainer will not move ... but a mat is not a bad idea given the copious amounts of perspiration you will generate.  When riding you do not realize how much you sweat as much of it evaporates from the wind generated by the mph you are pushing.

I do not sweat profusely and am still shocked by the fact that my socks can be soaked after a 60-75 minute ride on the trainer (not to mention the "puddle of sweat" on the floor of the garage).

I use a fan to help keep the sweat puddles down.

I have not heard to many positive reviews of the KK Rock and Roll trainer.

I use fans and put several dishrags over parts of my bike that I drip on the most, as well as a towel on the floor.

Edit: Oh, and my Kurt Kinetic has been a real workhorse.

FYI...I just called Bikesport Michigan to get more info on the "secret trainer". I'm definitely going to order one in the next few days...but just wanted to give a headsup to anyone else that might be in the process of trying to decide on a trainer - the guy I spoke with on the phone informed me that the "secret deal" no longer includes the riser block. So adding the riser block is an additional $18.99. Just thought I would share that info so that people are informed before making the purchase. Still sounds like a fantastic deal for this trainer.

I started to give you the link to where I got my KK but I just looked again and the price has jumped...When I bought it the price was $275 w/ free shipping and a free spinnervals dvd...but it is now $309.

Wherever you can find one at a good price, get it..you will love it. Best thing for me is it is soooo quiet that I can ride it as I watch tv and it doesn't wake my little one year old...
