I weighed in today at 241.8 2 pounds down from last week and on track for my goal of 4 pounds in two weeks. I went a little harder than I should have yesterday on my workout. today is a easy 20 minute run. I need to make sure I stick to the plan and not push too hard or I will end up hurting my back or feet.

Glad to see everyone is doing well!

Hello All,

Looks like everyone is doing well with the work outs and the food intake.  Wt. today is 227.8 which is down from 229 last week. I was craving McDonalds last night big time but ate some fruit instead.  Didn't calm the Big Mac craving much but kept me from running to the drive through.  I thought I would loose more but I'm happy with the 1.2.  Keep up the great work everyone.

We just had a work BBQ today and I ate my first veggie dog. They are not bad so long as you go into the deal not expecting a hotdod.

piggpen35 - 2008-09-16 11:54 PM I had a good day today... I was lite on the calories today... but had a GREAT bike run brick. Chicken soup for dinner so I will probably be retaining a bit of watter in the AM when I weigh in. I know everyone says o poor you under your calorie goal but under is as bad as over. I really need to be right in my 1800 to 2000 calorie window to have enough to gain fitness but still loose weight. Everyting I had was good stuff though so I don't feel to bad. tomorrow is a swim and a run.

Agreed.  It is important to make sure you eat enough calories.  I have a tough time getting the right number of calories in when I get off my meal schedule.  On Saturday I woke up just in time for lunch, ran some errands, and hit the gym.  Before I knew it it was 7pm and I had only had the one meal.

Keep up the GREAT workouts!

Hello. Like I expected most of the weight I lost this week was probably water, but I'm excited to keep losing this coming week. I've been sticking to a healthy mealplan and been trying to stay more active. I only slipped up once on Saturday, I got some subway after work at 11pm. I've been trying to have my last meal at 7 or 8. But hey, if you're gonna slip up, subway isn't the worst way to go.

 Previous weight: 266

Current weight: 259

 Goal for next week: 255

so far so good...

Last week - 228.2
This week - 224.8

I am sure the weight loss will slow down, but it sure feels good. Thanks for the challenge Elishia. It's just what I needed!

Thanks,

Bryan

I've been doing pretty well but have been finding I wasn't taking enough calories to work and I was getting hungry in the afternoon. So today I brought in TWO lunch bags full. I hate doing that, though, because people must think I'm just pigging out all day.

Amazing the volume of food you can eat when you stop eating junk!

I didn't weigh-in this morning but will next week. I'm hoping for 203 but not sure what to expect.

Regarding chocolate, did you ever try the ultra-high cocoa chocolate? I *love* the Lindt 85% cocao chocolate. When I eat it, I truly savor it, letting each small bite melt in my mouth. Each square is about 55 calories, so it is not a big deal to have one or two when you're craving chocolate.

It's funny you say that because I bring in a grocery sack every day full of fruit, veggies, crackers, pasta, sandwiches etc... and it is empty at the end of the day. I always feel a bit weird being the fat guy in the lunchroom with a huge sack of food but I notice despite the volume of food I eat the calories are on the low end when compared to my peers and I am loosing weight while most of them are still gaining it.

Today is a much deserved rest day. I'm planning on just taking a easy walk to keep the legs loose, but no real effort just a active rest day.

Keep it up guys It is awesome reading about all the big losers here! I hope I have a 4-5 pound week soon!

Hi guys, just wanted to check in with everyone and see how it's going.  i set my weight loss goal for the 24th to be 250... good news, I am currently at 250.4 and I still have 5 days left.  Wooo hooo, I may have to adjust my calorie intake just a little, I have felt sluggish this past few days.  But then again, I ran 2 bricks this past week so I may just need a few recovery days.  Anyone else doing any bricks, if so, do you feel drained for a couple of days afterwards?

Man, I have to also give props to all of you who have children.  My wife made brownies for the kids the other night. I was sitting there smelling those things and they were driving me nuts.... I got a bottle of water and headed out for a 3 mile run....had to get away!

Anyways, keep your chin up and your eye on the prize and good luck to you all!

One last thought, for my friends here who have chocolate cravings... I learned a little trick while bodybuilding to kill chocolate cravings without gaining all the calories, fat and carbohydrates.  Get a can of pressurized chocolate whipped topping (aka Cool Whip).  Whenever your having those chocolate cravings just give yourself a little squirt in the mouth and enjoy.  It only has like 10-12 calories per tablespoon, very little carbs and in most cases you can even find a fat-free version.

Just a little trick, I hope it helps someone down the line.

I do a bike run brick once a week and it kicks my butt! It's my favorite workout though and I do it the day before my rest day so I get a chance to recover.

As for the brownies. I log my nutrition and if I want one I eat it. I just make sure I adjust my portions so that I do not go above or below my 1800 - 2000 calorie bracket I have set for myself.

I seriously think nutrition logging is one of the best things I have done to control what I eat. It has made me very aware of what I eat and portion size.

Keep it up everyone!

Hey Guys--

Well, the weekend wasn't my best eating time. Hahaha. I haven't my weighed myself . . . I don't want to be discouraged and I want to keep my goal on Wednesday--hopefully it will be good. I did a mini-triathlon on Saturday. I swam 450 meters, biked 3 miles, and ran one mile. I really thought the running would be super hard, but I ran faster than I usually do . . . maybe I needed the warm-up or something. Hahaha. I liked it. Mind you, since I was at the gym, the transition times weren't factored in. Uhm . . . what else?

Elishia.

PS: Keep up the good work, guys!

245.1 as of Saturday and still 2 days till the weigh in...woooo hoooo!  That would make 12 lbs in 3 weeks, wow!  I am positive that most of the initial weightloss is water, but it feels good nontheless!

Frustrated here - I had lost some weight the first week of the challenge and then gained most of it back this last weekend. I have been working out but I guess I didn't do well food wise. I am going to try tracking everything I eat (like I did when I went to WW)

I guess tomorrow is the big weigh in day. Good luck to everyone!!

Howdy all!  I hope you don't mind me jumping in here.  I have a goal to lose two lbs. per week.  I need to drop back down to about 175 lbs (A little more than I was in my avatar pic).  Last Wednesday I was 215 lbs.  It's quite embarrassing for me to be this heavy again after getting as lean and healthy as I was back in 2002.  No excuses.  I love food.  After a knee injury I never stopped eating but I did stop training for an Iron distance event.  The rest of the story is on my waistline.  Both knees are now healthy enough for training, my low back still hurts (SIJ Disfunction) but it's getting better every day with increased core and flexibility training.  My goal for tomorrow's weigh-in is 210 lbs.  I know that this first two weeks back will give me about a nine lb. weight loss due to bloat, etc.  After that I'll settle into a nice to lb. per wek drop.

It's amazing how bad a layoff hurts my ability to ride and run fast!  Oh well.  At least I'll get to watch the times drop along with the weight.

I had three challenges this past weekend, and sailed past the first two but then messed up on the third.

Work conference. I ate only the food I brought (I can't eat gluten, so I couldn't have eaten their food anyway). Then, we went to a movie. I brought a banana so I wouldn't be tempted by the nachos. But, then, it fell apart at my nephew's baptism. I had one corn chip, and then many. One slide of gluten-free cake, then two more. Then we had no food at home, and so ate out. Yowsers!

So, here's to getting back on plan.

I don't even really want to weigh in tomorrow.  I've done nothing but eat crap for the last couple of days - studing for boards and the stress of not having a job yet is getting to me I think.  I will however, check my wt tomorrow am (taken with a grain of salt of course) and get back on track.  I did my first 7 mile ride on Sunday however and my arse is still sore - alot of hills out here in Idaho.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm up half a pound, to 205. It is amazing what one day of bad eating can do! So for two weeks from now, I hope to be down to 203.

Well, friends, I did not do well. I mean . . . I guess I didn't eat perfectly? I gained 3 pounds yesterday. It was a rest day and I do tend to gain weight and rest day AND I ate Chinese . . . . so I am going with water weight. However, I don't think my scale works. I weighed myself three times this morning . . . once I weighed 192, once I weighed 194, and then I weighed 196. What's the deal? Although within a minute's time? I think I need to invest in a new scale. I have this problem where I don't lose weight whenever I work out. Now matter how little I eat. What's the deal here? Does anyone else have this problem? I think I will try to stick to 1700 calories a day (I had my metabolism checked at a hospital once). Long story short . . . I'm not sure what I weight today. But we will not lose heart. My goal for two weeks from today stays the same: 189.

Morning Meltaways.  Not great news to post...I'm only down .5 lbs.  I feel like I worked hard this week on burning calories, but I guess I ate a few too many.  I was 166 at the begining of this challenge, I'm now 165.5.  My goal for 2 weeks from today will be 162.  I watched Biggest Loser last night and I am totally motivated  Hope everyone else has better luck that I did.
