QueenZipp - 2008-10-13 12:39 PM Darn, I missed 6 pages while playing domesatic diva and going to choir practice??

ooh what are you practicing in choir?

We're getting a Christmas cantata ready, along witha couple other pieces.

The choir director keeps picking out old southern gospel music...shouldn't surprise me living in the southa and all...but I really feel like it's corny sometimes.

I really miss the whole band/choir/orchestra thing around christmas... all that performing and green and red and cheesy touches etc... always made christmas feel like it was about more than the stress at the dept stores!

Definitely.  The music brings back the meaning.

Yeah! I was involved with concerts nad stuff all through school from about 6 to 18 so thats a LONG time...

I love christmas but I havent *felt* it so much recently...

I read your post. Thank you for sharing this! I am new around here and I didn't know. What I can tell you from what I read so far from you, you strike me as a confident person... faking or really believing it yourself.... you made me believe that... Good luck for your race next week. Smile

How is everyone? Hope you all had a great weekend. The Chicago mary was really fun today. It was hot again, but not as bad as last year. I was still glad I wasn't racing. I spent the day with BTers, always a good time.

We can shake hands on that one.... I will do my first ever 5K in November and I am terrified myself...  I read that quote somewhere, can't remember where, but it basically said.... as long as you reach your goal you are a winner.... it depends on what your goal ist.... a 3K walking or running, a 5K, a marathon (that one is for Travis! Hi!!! ;-).

Lazy so far.  I am off tomorrow as well, so I am hopping to continue the trend.  I think I might actually get a few miles in tomorrow though.  You?

Id say as long as you turn up and START you are a winner...

At the end of the day you are racing yuorself and if the hurdle for you is to START then achieving that should be your first goal.

My goals look like this:

1) Dont wimp out

2) Finish

Anything else is a bonus... although Id like a solid swim and bike...

Just remember the hardest part was deciding to do it.  The second hardest is showing up.  Once it begins you will have fun and realize that it was worth it.  That is all distances.
