So what is everyone's plan for shedding pounds/dropping bodyfat? Is it just increasing your training and/or changing your diet? I'm making menus this weekend and I'm going to be very strict about what I eat. I'm also getting back into full training mode. My biggest problem right now is icy roads, making it very difficult to run outside. Dreadmills are not my friend though so I'll keep plugging away outdoors. Has anyone used a nutritionist? I can't find any in my locale that have any expertise with athletes. I think there is a nutrition plan that you can sign-up on BT with, right? When you say "strict" do you mean cutting out junk food, counting calories, clean eating? CAn you tell I have a slight obsession with diet? Off topic, did you talk to your wife about the bikini thread idea? Ha ha!!
You have a 'slight obsession' about everything you do Abbie! That's why we love you. ~Mike Awww, thanks Mike. But I thought you loved me because I look better in a thong than you do! We need some proof before you going making brash statements like that |

So what is everyone's plan for shedding pounds/dropping bodyfat? Is it just increasing your training and/or changing your diet? After doing IMAZ in November on very little training and eating garbage, I am thinking of changing both of those and that should take care of the first half of the weight I need to drop. The last 20 will have to be strict eating and tough workouts over the summer. I have stopped drinking pop this week until after IM and am back starting to get consistent with my workouts again. Also limiting alcohol for very special occasions. |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: IMKY Weightloss challange Sounds like a good plan, Michael. I had mixed results this weekend. I "accidentally" ate nothing but a box of Cocoa Krispies with milk yesterday. I've been eating very light and healthy today--Puffins for breakfast, butternut squash soup and some lite string cheese for lunch. And I do feel satisfied. |

Time to kickit up another notch! OK let the games begin! You have 33 weeks. Thats alot of time. My goal is to cut 2500 calories a week(360 calories/day), which roughly equals .7 pounds/week. This should put me around 157 the week of Louisville. Good Luck.

Although you eat "really healthy", maybe there is something in your diet that needs to be tweaked? Too many processed carbs, too much sodium, not enough protein? |

Too many processed carbs, too much sodium, not enough protein? i think the best thing you can do is to have your metabolic rate tested,,, so you know exactly how many calories you can eat in a day,, When i had mine done I was surprise at how high it was in relation to what I thought,, so when I thought I was just cutting back 300 calories a day it was really over 800, which is why I was a snaking fool late in the day or just too tired to work out |

How was your body fat measured? Was it was done by an electronic machine or calipers? They(machine) usually they give a rough estimate RMR. |

Member 198 | Subject: RE: IMKY Weightloss challange I need to change my starting bodyfat percentage from 14.8 to 13.6. I had to replace the battery in my bodyfat calipers and while I would love to say I've lost 1.2% bodyfat in a few days, that obviously is not the case. I would change my number in the chart but I'm afraid I would mess the entire thing up. How is everyone doing so far? My wife SweetP has helped create meal plans for me and I'm going to be as strict as possible. |

I'm doing well. I'm hitting all my workouts and keeping my nutrition in check. On Monday I'm getting my body fat checked. My weight fluctuates with dehydration and hydration.

I've increased the amount of h2o I've been drinking and I've been great about not eating sugar. I'm also limiting the amount of "white stuff" in my diet....last night I had sushi, so that went out the window. Meeting with my tri coach next week to figure out my training plan for 09 racing. |

Despite a pseudo-race over the weekend, I seem to be up a pound or 2! >.< Hmmmm... and that was before all the PB I scarfed down last night. It's not all bad, I've been eating more fruits and veggies, less dessert. Just need to do more tweaking to the diet, and take more food to work to prevent future PB attacks. |

I made the mistake of sitting down to go over a presentation last night... with an open jar of PB, a spoon, and a beer. Half hour later I noticed there was a sizable dent in the PB. Oops! |

It's my own fault though :p Hopefully with a weightloss group I will be more motivated this time around. I picked up a copy of Paleo Diet for Athletes, and I am *trying* to eat as natural as possible. I'm not completely Paleo, but definitely changing my eating habits and feel great about it. |
