Subject: RE: Let's make a triathlon.OK, we seem to have enough traction to start talking about 'when'. There's been a lot of interest in an 'early season' one, and a 'late season' one. Interestingly enough, the date with the fewest conflicts is right in the middle of the season. Here's the prelim research as to what's going on when: May 2-3 | Willow Duathlon | May 9-10 | Dances with Dirt, Mothers' Day (Sun) | May 16-17 | Starker-Mann Challenge | May 23-34 | TTT, Memorial Day (25th) | May 30-31 | Hawk Island, Auburn Tri/Du | June 6-7 | Ann Arbor, Racing for Recovery | June 13-14 | Kansas HIM, Motor City Tri, Flag City Du | June 20-21 | Horribly Hilly 100, Big Fish, Fathers' Day | June 27-28 | Western States 100 | July 4-5 | 4th of July | July 11-12 | Muncie HIM | July 18-19 | Musselman, Spirit of Racine, Clark Lake | July 25-26 | | Aug 1-2 | Steelhead, Craig Greenfield | Aug 8-9 | Sylvania Tri/Du, Ore to Shore | Aug 15-16 | Pigman HIM | Aug 22-23 | The Crim | Aug 29-30 | Ironnman Louisville | Sep 5-6 | Labor Day Sept 7 | Sep 12-13 | Muskoka HIM, Tawas HIM | Sep 19-20 | | Sep 26-27 | |
----------------------- OK, With that as background, I'd like to throw out a few dates for consideration: Early Season: May 16-17, or May 30-31. Both have very few conflicts, and I don't want to go too much before May 16 because the water may or may not be swimmable. Late Season: July 11-12, July 25-26, or August 15-16. All have very few conflicts, it's just a question of how late in the season we want to stretch it. Thoughts? |
