Offthegrid - 2009-03-04 12:50 PM I was originally thinking chicken, but not sure. maybe some asparagus, too, since it's my favorite veggie.

That is my favorite too!

So ...I am sitting here at my desk wasting time...and I am trying to find races for the DH and I to do together...the problem is he can run much farther (we won't even get in to how much faster) than I can...Well actually right now I can run farther but that is because I have been training all winter on the Dreadmill and he won't go near one (but he also won't run outside in the cold/snow...I know I know don't get me started)...but once he gets training he will be able to go much farther than I can.

Why can't you go farther you ask...well its not that I can't I just probably shouldn't.  My PT told me that "running probably wasn't a good hobby for me"  when I developped PF this fall.  He says that my arch is to high, and my hip and knee angles are wrong for running...

So to finally get to my question (took me long enough I know)... There are lots of races in Chicago that have 2 distances (5K/10K, 5K/1/2mary, 5K/15K) but I feel like a cheater if I do the shorter race....should I?  Or should I just get over it and realize that most people can't even run a 5K?

If 5Ks are good races for you, why don't you just do them and work on getting faster?  (And not injuring yourself.)

Bigger question - did you realize your post could have been broken up into several smaller posts for maximum pad posting?

Answer to original question:
Shorter races are just as tough when applying yourself.  You're not cheating anybody but yourself if you don't race.  A short race is beneficial, too.

I believe you need to get over it.

Next time, I might answer in many smaller posts to maximize my pad posting.

You can injure yourself for trying too hard on getting faster, too.

Actually I did...and that was a scary moment for me but then I worried that someone else would post in the middle and it would get confusing!
