Katy Flatlands Century Bike Ride : Official Thread (Page 2)

One week to go -- where are we meeting Sunday morning?  I can't wait to meet you all!

I'm in, John.  I think Craig and Joseph and Jenn are doing it too. Missed you at OWS church.

I am SO excited for this ride...I love riding FLATLAND but there is none here in Central Texas and I kicked my own butt with hills this past weekend.  The idea of just riding in flat, flat Katy makes me oh so very happy!!

I will be getting there early, probably b/w 5:30/6ish cause my friend and have to do packet pick that morning.  Not sure if there is actually a place to meet up--but seriously, I'm easy to spot.  Short, red hair, white helmet, Q-Roo Tequilo tri-bike, Yellow/Black Team Army Cycling jersey. I'm quite sure I'll be the only one there that resembles that description, so do say hi if you see me.  I'm going to be trying to do the ride at a pretty steady, hard pace as it's an IM training ride, so don't be mad if you see me on the bike and I either don't hear you or don't respond--I'm just zoning!!

Yea.. but flat sure is boring.

I can't wait to head up to Colorado in September and do some real riding. Got a lovely 8 mile climb by my parents place.

I think my quads and hamstrings just fainted at the thought of an 8 mile climb...there's the roadie in you popping out!

It's the 1 mile climb on the way back 2 miles from the house that hurts.

Anybody know anything about the route? I don't see anything online. I'm signed up for the 100.

I know.  2 weeks away from 288 is putting a hurting on my swimming.

I am signed up, but what distance are we going to do?

there he is!  welcome to BT!  this is going to be a game day decision for me but i'm leaning towards 30 miles then back to my truck to crush some beer while the others are out on the century course.  well,  this is assuming i can finish the 30.  

Opps, I think I jumped the gun by a few months....

That's for John - IMFL 2010 for him - I am currently trying to help him with his BS 70.3 recovery

You are such a slacker... 30 miles?  You can do that on your unicycle, while drinking beer, and hardly even break a sweat!  What's 70 more miles mister... "just a walk in the park Kasanski!" lol!

Haha, not if you're doing 2010....I thought it was in reference to IMFL '09!

I have not signed up yet but will be there this weekend. I am coming from Lumberton which is just north of Beaumont. I am excited as this is the longest I will have rode so far. Did a 60 mile ride this past weekend with some hills to get prepared.
