I seriously doubt they will try to collect money tomorrow if you say you're there to drop off your bike.  Last year they just waved me on though.

Karen as a volunteer tomorrow you should have gotten a pass onto the island.

Yes, I did.  I was just thinking for those dropping their bikes off, based on how they did it last year they shouldn't have to pay.

See you tomorrow, bright and early!!!

great event. I will definetly do it again next year.

I was *this* close to being back of the middle of the pack. Dropping weight is key (and this revelation makes me excited!)

Great job to all the racers!  I was the volunteer with a police officer near the top of that loooong steady climb about mile 12-13.  There was no let up on that hill.  Awesome effort by everyone.

your absolutely right latrina. last year i was 30 pounds heavier (at that point - total loss 83) than this year and i moved from 2/3 back to finishing almost top 1/3 (333/914). i was pretty happy, even though i missed my goal of under 2 hours by a minute and a half. oh well, something to shoot for next year, right?

i thougt that was you brian. thanks for coming out!

weren't those pros amazing? i only hope i can move anywhere near that fast in the water someday!

What an amazing day! Thanks to everyone who came out and volunteered. It was great to have you guys cheering us along!

For my first tri it was awesome. I got lucky number 13 (at least, that's the story I'm sticking with!) which made for some amusing cheering along the way. I wish I had done better on the run, but I finished in the time I expected to finish, so I'm happy for that!

Congratulations ladies!!!

great job! the run is where I got hit mostly.

Brian I saw you as I was climbing that!  thanks for coming out!

ha. the pros. I was like "that's helen libby, wait, don't stare, walk away." what was cool was I saw her later helping a runner who was cramping on the run. She ran .5 mile to go get her gatorade and came back. awesomeness.

Great job today ladies. I am so proud of my effort today in my first official tri. I finished in 2:10:56 which is a whole 10 minutes faster that I would have even expected my "fast" time to be!!! That put me right smack dab in the middle at finishing 496th!!! I have never finished in the middle of any road race, never less in my first tri. I am super happy.

It was nice to see lots of familiar NAMC peeps volunteering and cheering all over the place.

And great job to all the first time finishers!  What an accomplishment!  You are now a TRIATHLETE!

We had a good group out on the bike course - Jonathan and both Bills were there also. We all rode together in a van out to our spots on the course.  The best part was, we had to stop on the way out because a big a** Snapping Turtle was in the middle of the road.  We spulled over and our driver (Paul) decided to pick him up and move him to the other side.  I swear, that thing almost bit his hand off......I am not kidding.  I tried to get a picture on my iphone but it all just happened too fast.

Good times.

That was a pretty unhappy turtle. It looked like a trash can lid it was so big!

Great job ladies! I'll bet there are a lot of new triathlon fanatics after yesterday's race.

It was so much fun, I totally stalked all the pros all morning long.  I look like a giant next to them in pictures because they are all so *wee* little.  I never get to see the pros race, so that made it even more fun.  I also loved working swim to bike transition!
