Artemis - 2010-08-03 1:48 PM Blake and I are going to do a side challenge as well this month.

Proposed rules: whomever gets a higher average percent of the goals for this challenge plus percent of the month with at least 15 minutes of exercise (tri sport, sport or strength) wins.

Penalty: loser has to change their signature to say that Jen the winner beat them in the previous month.  Maybe an avatar change, too?
Agreed - Definitely an avatar change... something VERY humiliating sounds fun. Photobucket

Awesome!  Only thing I won't post for an avatar is anything naked or super revealing.

Oh oh oh! I know! I know! I know!

The loser has to write the winner's name followed by "rocks!" on their forehead and then take a picture of it and make that their avatar. Muahahahaha!!

Isn't this how you ended up being Mila's Man Slave?

Nah - that was completely voluntary! :P

Hm. I don't think so. Maybe we need to go wake up Mila to find out what *really* happened.

Ha, this thread is hilarious!

It looks like I may already be falling behind on the "run" department this week.  I had to skip my run last night because my friend is moving to China and she desperately needed people to help her pack (movers coming Thurs).  Tonight is a planned lifting day, and I might try to run after, but I will probably end up going back to my friend's house instead to help her pack more.

I think packing should count as your lift workout.

Well...I'm not exactly "slacking" right now...I'm going to call it post-HIM recovery..

I set my goals yesterday. Hopefully I haven't picked goals that are overly ambitious...we will see. Between HIM recovery and a trip to Vegas near the middle of the month...we will see

Biking using spin bike at the gym and my Aunt's mountain bike because I didn't want to pay to bring my bike over to Victoria when I am just going to head back to Edmonton next week again. Mountain biking=bike strength training? At least thats what it feels like right now Man...its a heavy sucker compared to my tri bike.

I'm doing good so far this month. I know its only a couple of days but I'm taking this one day at a time after my miserable performance in this challenge last month.
I had a late lunch and got my swim in. I was a little concerned that they would close the pool because there has been lightning and rain off and on today but it was open and I had a lane all to myself for the first time this summer. In fact I had four lanes all to myself. I can tell I've been slacking with the swimming lately. Time to step it up.
Bike scheduled for after work.

I ran 5 miles today.  That means I'm 4/4 so far on workouts this month.

Blake, how you doing?

Good idea!  Though I may have to start running everywhere to get my runs in, as those seems to be what I'll be short on this week!

I don't have a mountain bike, but I have a really old (aka heavy) road bike that I use as my commuter bike... And man, can I tell the difference!  I'm much slower on it, but I feel like my legs are getting stronger just by riding it a few miles to/from work & errands every day!

I love training after the rain because it usually means the path/beach/roads aren't as crowded!

Glad you're getting back in the swing of things

I got my bike commute & lifting session in as planned.  What I didn't plan for was staying extra long after my tri club meeting and being suckered into persuaded to do a marathon in Feb instead of a half, and a 100-mile trail run in July (which I will probably still back out of, or "just" do the 50k).

I know!  I just did my first marathon this year, and I was thinking that's long enough... Now I'm being peer pressured to go longer?!  Sheesh!

Yeah I don't know what it is but there seems to be something that drives us to go farther once we accomplish something. I always wanted to do a tri but never an Ironman. Now I find myself wanting to do an ironman too. I also have the Wasatch 100 on my bucket list now. Makes me wonder what's next.
