I do use photoshop, although I mostly do a quick resize with a program called PhotoGadget.  I will PM you when I get a chance to see what I am doing wrong - won't necessarily be today.  I can resize using PS but to get it to the size allowed, I end up with a tiny photo that isn't as sharp as the original.  This isn't always the case.  I usually resize to 800 x 600 and sometimes the pic is small enough to post and other times it isn't. Thanks.

What is GIMP?  I have never used the albums on BT.  I will give this a shot in addition to trying to figure out what I am doing wrong with PS.  And thanks also.

GIMP is a free image editing program.  I'll let wikipedia take it from here...  LINK

In photoshop, go to image size,

Change the resolution to 72dpi

Then under pixel dimensions (the top part of the box), change the longer side of the image to say 600

hen simply save at a file quality that will give the file size you need (normally between 5-8).

dont touch anything else in image size and this will give you the smaller quality photo you need

Thank you.  This is actually what I do - with the exception of altering the file quality/compression thing. I always have it at the highest number.  Time to change that.

My submission for the week - I usually tend to go more outside for photos but I was cleaning up this morning and noticed the "lonely" dog toy on the floor and thought I would see what would happen. This is what I got.

Shot this one this morning. This time or year around here creates some nice visuals as the cool nights suck the heat out of the local river canal that runs through the valley.

Peby, great shot! It seems like BC has it all.  I like the fact that not only is it in B&W but it looks like it was shot many years ago.

Wow, peby. Not only are your images beautiful you have stunning surroundings in which to shoot.  Might have to get to BC some day.

You are correct about the surroundings. One needs no talent to capture these images. Just point the camera and shoot.

I am so bummed, I spent 3 nights in Chicago, right on Grant park and I forgot my camera. At least it looks like I'll be back there in a couple weeks.
