Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Augusta : Official ThreadI am excited about traveling up to Augusta and have trained hard for this race.
The waves have been posted and I am concerned because I am in the THIRD wave (55+ female ) after the pros!!! I have no problem with the distance and I am comfortable enough in the water BUT their is no way that I am going to be able to stay ahead of all the big guns that are going to start behind me.
My question is, where is the best swim start position for me so that I can stay out of their way and avoid being trampled on? I know we start from a pier that jetties out into the water. I am assuming the masses will try to catch the fastest current by the bouys. But I read one forum post that hinted that this may not be the case.
HELP!
Also, how is the flow of swimmers going under the bridges?
