Lie is an intransitive verb meaning "to recline" - I lie down on the bed.

Lay is a transitive verb meaning "to place" - I lay the book on the table.

I mention it here because someone very close to me always gets this wrong, but, for the sake of peace in my life, I have learned to stifle my urge to correct them.

(There was a skit on the radio the other day about "the guy who would rather correct grammar than have sex.". I don't want to be that guy)

Or, as Jimi Hendrix most certainly did not say:

I had an English teacher in HS who was so totally exacting about grammar and usage, many of us were afraid to even speak. But I, who ended up becoming the 5th gen teacher in my family, LOVED him for it. But one day he lost his temper and said, "For Pete Sakes!"

I immediately lost all faith in humanity...

I am soooo not a grammar nazi.  Actually, I enjoy the regional, cultural, etc. differences in language, pronunciation and usage.  "Ax" instead of "ask" is fine with me.  "Ain't" is cool with me.

Although I try not to, I have to admit that I sometimes type too fast and somehow my brain mixes up "you're" and "your" though I know the difference and even pronounce them differently.

I just think it's funny when people get whole words mixed up.  It's especially funny when they do it using common phrases.  I'm sure I've even done it myself.

I think only Superfuzz and maybe Stupidnickname would understand the Pittsburghese phrases.

Slippy...as in, "Careful, the floor is slippy". I had NO IDEA that this was NOT a real word until I moved to college!!!

Gumband...as in "I used a gumband to hold my hair back...instead of a "Rubberband".

Sammich- Sandwhich

Wursh- Wash

Dauhn- Down...as in "we're going dauhn tauhn."

Jeet yet?- did you eat yet? (response, "na, jew?" (no, did you?) "yunt to?" (want to?))

Chippedam- Chipped Ham

Jumbo- Bologna (I have no idea)

EasLiberty- East Liberty

Yinz/Yunz- "you all"...also the origin of "Yinzer" which is a person who uses the above phrases.

You forgot the lack of the "to be" verb form.

"The door needs fixed."

"The car needs wurshed."

People (mostly Texans I've noticed) who pronounce it "Mass-uh-two-chits"

Never mind that it REALLY should be pronounced "Tax-uh-chew-setts" or "Messy-two-shits"

I was going to point this one out as well, but you beat me to it.  Also don't forget the PA Dutch use of read as in "read up the room"  meaning clean the room.  I am not sure of the correct spelling, the pronunceation is the same as the color red.

Here's a local favorite: "The house needs painted."

Um, no. It's "The house needs TO BE paintED" or "The house needs paintING." One or the other, not both. Ever. Maybe it's because Engrish is my second language that I even notice...

Edit - dangit, someone else beat me to it too...

Yep, "read" up the room. As in "ready" the room for guests... Imagine moving to P'Tucky when you're three years old, speak to one parent in Spanish, don't know English and the other parent is PA Dutch... Think about it, it's actually Pennsylvania DEUTSCH, as in German - not Dutch, as in Holland. Figured that one out at an early enough age to use it to filter out most of what came out of grandma's mouth
