BeCivil - 2005-12-06 10:35 AM Yeah, good start for a second place finish.......... Carolina Curmudgeons
UTTriman - 2005-12-06 11:23 AM

GO TEAM UTAH! --- We're well on our way.  As of 12/5, we are at almost 21% of goal with 16% of the month passed!   We're kicking tail.   Florida as of yesterday was at a paltry 12 % with one team member at 22 percent of her goal!  We were also ahead of the "flurries" with 12.27% to their 12 %!  Canada officially led last week (12/4) with 17% of their goal, but that was with 13% of the month passed.

Let's keep the pressure on, get those swims in!  By the end of this week we should be at least 36% of our team goal, and of course each team member should be at least that far as well, because we won't win unless we ALL win!

Keep up the GREAT work Team -- TEAM UTAH Rocks!

Well --- BeCivil --- Renee just put out the numbers.  True we're in 2nd place to the Canadians -- but TEAM UTAH with 36% is DROWNING the Caroline Curmudgeons who have a paltry 20%

OK. So Utah is the team to beat? I got another challenge. Beat my last single swim. Ready?

6300 Meters. 4000 in one set.

I've drawn a line in the sand. Anyone dare to step over it?

Well-- it certainly appears we are melting the Blizzard!   Just did some calculations.  4 out of 5 team members are at or above goal at this point!  And the one who's not isn't far off pace.  We're kicking out here.

No laps to borrow!!!! Team UTAH will prevail!  Note-- the yardage reported above is TEAM yardage!  Not individual yardage -- Can the Carolina's beat that??

You guys have certainly been working very hard and have no doubt improved your times significantly. Really no need to keep swimming. Why not take the holidays off and eat pies and drink eggnog? You guys deserve it.

BTY, I just finished a 8300 meter swim.

I can see Team Utah backing down and eating some pies over the next couple of weeks. I am not worried about Team Utah!! They got out to a fast start but there is still time to fall on their face.

As for 8300 meters, more power to you. My shoulders would fall off if I tried that......not to mention I would look like a flailing idiot by that time. I think my limit is about 2500 -2700 at this point. I would not be focused for anything over that right now.

No Backing Down here --- another 1800 yards in the bank this morning !  ( I'm now over 76% complete with my committed yardage!)  No way this team is backing down!!!!  We're going ALL the way!!!  In fact -- Several on our team will EXCEED committment!   --- No -- we're not sandbagging!!  Our goals were set in some cases 37% higher than the teammate had ever done in one month!  In my case - I committed roughly 1500 yards more than I've ever done before -- an increase of at LEAST 10% over previous high yardage mark!   We'll enjoy the pie and egg nog and take a break -- ON JANUARY 1 when we start to receive HOMAGE from you all out there!

BTW -- Nice job biking bruise -- 8300 yards - on session -- Good stuff!!

TEAM UTAH may be small -- but we are melting the south, conquering Canada, and putting a bit of extra heat on the Midwest Blizzards!  Here are the Rankings, per the "official" spreadsheet as of today!

1-Gamecock Wahoos                 76/100/88

2-Midwest blizzard                     72/87/79

3-TEAM UTAH                           72/80/76

4- Mid Atlantic Crabs                  79/78/74

5-Crazy Canucks                       70/72/71

6-Carolina Curmudgeons            59/57/58

7-Texas YeeHaws                      56/38/47

8-Southwest Swashbucklers       54/22/38

9-Pacific Ring of Fire                  48/20/34

10-Florida Force                         50/9/29

(Note -- Georgia is in the mix, but had not turned in their numbers yet.  They have a team score of approximately  48 per their team forum!

Great Job TEAM UTAH – We’re small – but we will prevail!

 eep up the great work!

Well, better move fast -- at least 2 of our team have COMPLETED their committed yardage as of today, and 1 other will most likely complete committed yardage tomorrow!

As for me -- I finished this morning -- I'm now at 21,300/20,000 for the month.  Can't beleive it!

Go TEAM UTAH!
