smokeater1833 - 2005-11-30 2:56 PM Just remember God still loves you.

Whew.  Good deal. Hey, say that one about how He believes in you even if you don't believe in Him.  I love that one.

Tania, you kill me! I guess you subscribe to the Christopher Hitchens school of thought.

A thread consisting of taunts and insults regarding the validity of another members spiritual beliefs is not acceptable here. Any further posts along these lines will get the thread pulled.

Please refrain from using this board to post judgements on others spirituality. There are other boards on the web where that is appropriate.

A Web site of "atheist celebrities" lists... Penn and Teller...

Do you think Penn talked Teller into it, or Penn asked Teller to give him one good reason to believe in God, and he mistook Teller's silence for non-belief in God. Teller is of course trapped in a world where he can hear, but can't express himself, so perhaps Penn is speaking for Teller without knowing what Teller actually believes.

I don't see where there are attacks being made (nevermind Welshy and Janelle). I don't understand where the judgements are being made.

And, I don't see anything wrong with a thread about atheism when there are multiple threads about Christianity and other religions. Isn't there room for them all?

In the context of discussing another's personal spiritual beliefs, "Sad" and "Deluded" are judgemental and derisive. They would be unacceptable in a thread about any set of beliefs.

FESTIVUS!!!

Festivus Information:

Celebrated December 23rd each year.
The Meal: What ever you want

During the last few weeks in December when Festivus takes place, families and friends get together at the dinner table and have something called "the Airing of Grievances". Durning this time, we share with family and friends all the ways they had disappointed over the past year.

Too true! I'm thinking that we're going to throw a combo Festivus/Christmakuh celebration replete with Christmas Tree, Menorah, and Festivus Pole.

A donation to the HUMAN FUND has been made in your name. Happy Holidays!

Dang! I messed up my own joke. It's supposed to be:
Did you hear about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac?
He lays awake at night wondering if there is a dog....

OK.

Don't worry Bettylou, my mom did that once and we still give her grief:

Real version:

Knock-knock. Who's there? Targets. Targets who?  Target's on my shoes when I walk on fresh asphalt.

Her version:

Knock-knock.  Who's there?  Asphalt!

It kills.  Hey, nobody mentioned Ramadan!  I will be mentioning this at the "airing of grievances".  God Bless Festivus!
