Morey1 had a good suggestion I think. Hit the 1800 on Tuesday, then go Thursday and do as much as you can. Once you are there, cranking out another 600 more than normal might be easier than trying to come on another day, or you can break it up.  If you are worried about wearing out, mix up your sets some or do some drills that aren't as strenuous.  Maybe tho, this is just the little push you needed to get those swim workouts to go a little longer!

I need 4 more pool sessions to meet my goal-- 2 next week and 2 the week after. That gives me two extra possible sessions (of when the pool's schedule and mine correspond) just in case there is a unforseen fiasco! Kick up that Blizzard!

Just so everyone knows, I decided to put my money where my mouth was. I so cavalierly (spelling?) told hikergerb to swim 150% of his normal, I decided I should do that as well.

So, I swam 1400 yds last night. OK Hikergerb, now you've GOT to do your 1800 on Tuesday.

Morey1 - Way to put the pressure on! I am not sure I can take that kind of time at lunch to do the full 1800. I'll have to see what tomorrow brings. I do like the idea and if I can squeezw three swims into two that would be awesome!

Ok gang....time to ramp it up! We are in the home stretch for the challenge and we all have to make 100%- there's no overshooting to compensate for team members who don't make 100%!  I think we all pretty much have a training plan that gets us to our goals while still addressing the other two sports.  So, keep up the good work Blizzards!

Even though it's been warm, predictions are calling for a strong storm!

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse - my pool is closed for technical problems until Thursday! I'll figure a way to get the yardage in though.

On a side note Sassafrass has been sick and unable to swim - give her a little encouragement - it sucks when you want to but the body won't let you!

Hikergerb,

You might have some open water this winter. Would be some motivation for swimming REAL FAST!

No ice anywhere around me

I do want a new (actually first) wetsuit and I am already planning my open water swimming practice but I think I might wait more until May. There is open water around here even now but I think that would put a new spin on cold!

I DID IT!!!!! I swam the 1800 yds. Cramped a little at the end but stretched it out and continued! I swam 50% of it in freestyle. I FEEL GOOD (and tired). One down one to go! GO BLIZZARDS!

What's up?  Is the unseasonably warm winter in the Midwest causing the Blizzards to melt towards last place?

GO TRI-STARS!!!!!

No doubt.  Noses to the grindstone this week folks.  Remember, this is a team effort so if one of us doesnt hit their mark we are sunk!  Swim to victory Blizzards like a freakin Alberta Clipper coming out of Saskatchewan bringing 2 feet of snow, or something like that.

PULEEEZE pretty PULEEEZE everybody make your goal. I just want my Brett Favre avatar and sig-line back. Trust me, a MONTH is a LONG TIME to have a donkey/self in speedo picture as an avatar.

We are all counting on each other. Make us proud we included you on the team.
