I agree with the total time based challenge since it will be easier for the person in charge (you, heh heh) to keep up with totals on a weekly basis. That way, if someone wants concentrate on mileage it'll be easier to convert over to time for the initial goal. Right? If I know I want to run 50 miles in February and I know I run on average an 8 minute mile, then I know to challenge myself to finish 400 minutes for the Feb Goal. makes sense and keeps from having to follow the two methodologies for computing the weekly percentages towards goal.

Count me in too.

If you let the participants state their goals as either time or miles  and give there accomplishment in the same form the percent of goal would be comparable for everyone the units wouldn't matter.

Im all for giving the option of time OR distance...

Some people train specifically for time (Im one of them), others for distance so it would be best if it could fit into peoples training goals/plan?

Cant wait to see the challenge up!

Let's start making teams. I posted rules in a separate thread.

Let's see what type of creativity we have.

I'm in for 50 miles.

How are we doing teams?

Geography?
Age?
Gender?
Hair color?
Wether or not you can listen to country music radio for longer than 1 minute?

Great. Check out the thread with the Rules for the Feb Challenge. You can join in any team. The geographically closest to you is Florida, mid-west, or mid-atlantic.
