I am almost done with chemo and radiation...wooohoooo....I was dx with cervical ca 10 days after Louisville IM last year (sounds funny to say last yr). I have kept as active as possible but my body has taken a beating! So I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I can recuperate well with not many long lasting effects from radiation! Happy training to you and run some extra miles for me :-)......Alicia |

I'm racing in his honor and for Type I diabetes awareness. He became a diabetic at age 11 and suffered with it for 45 years, so it only seems appropriate for me to suffer for a day. Thanks. I'll probably need some support along the way. |

Member 31 | Subject: RE: Ironman Cozumel : Official Thread I'm in again for 2012! I had a rough training year last year with multiple injuries and mono for half of the summer leading up to IM Coz 2011. I had to readjust my goal to just get to the start line, so I was thrilled that I made the bike cutoff by 1 minute 14 seconds, but I had to take it really slow during the marathon due to fatigue from the mono. I DNF'd after 22K or so because at that point, I knew I wouldn't have time to finish and I was proud of what I managed to do given the circumstances. I was so happy I made it that far that I didn't even care. But NOW, it's on!! I am bound and determined to have a healthy season and get out there at 100%! I absolutely LOVED everything about the whole experience and can't wait to do it again! |

I am looking forward to watching you push forward towards your IM goals.

New user 3 Rogers, AR | Subject: RE: Ironman Cozumel : Official Thread I did Cozumel last year as my first ironman and had a great experience! obviously i am jealous and am stalking forums, but have promised myself (and husband) that i will not do another full we stayed at El Cantil Condos, which is literally across the street from the finish line. trust me, i really appreciated that! the condos are really nice, they have a great concierge. its next door to Cozumel Palace which i heard great things about as well - i thought i might want to cook more of my own food so we didnt do an all-inclusive, but i had no problems eating the local food. best part of the race is the people of cozumel - they stay all day to support the athletes - if you give a smile or wave, the response is amazing, it kept me going during some tough times. good luck and have fun! |

Master 2808 , Minnesota | Subject: RE: Ironman Cozumel : Official Thread Toured via rental car. Course is what I expected. I've been diving in Cozumel for 15 years so I am pretty familiar with the island. Just hadn't been on the exact roads in quite a few years. Base training now till the snow thaws, and actual plan will start sometime in May / June. golfpro - 2012-02-08 5:51 AM leapdog - 2012-02-06 11:16 AM Toured the bike and run courses while on vacation last week. Master 2808 , Minnesota | Subject: RE: Ironman Cozumel : Official Thread Swim: Warm and has high visibility. Bike: Mostly flat and exposed. Pavement looks pretty decent the whole way. Serious crosswinds on the leg from Punta Sur north to the cut across the island. Run: Pretty much flat. Others who have done it can give more specifics or you can get more info on the course home page. mindiswilling - 2012-02-08 3:48 PM what's the course like? |

19 | Subject: RE: Ironman Cozumel : Official Thread I'm taking the plunge come July- really due to work obligations. However my build is different than most- slowly getting back distance, then speed. Marathon with wife in March, century ride for completion in April, state time trial in June to relive cycling days of speed, then focused build up to Cozumel. |

Veteran 334 | Subject: RE: Ironman Cozumel : Official Thread I found the first 35 minutes to 55 minutes tough and the last 30 minutes, but other then that the movies were a good distraction. Now that I have the vortex it should make my rides even more fun. Everything came in yesturday so all I need now is a converter as I bought the unit from europe. |
