Packers O-line sucks and the Giants D-line is awesome.

You say this based on what? Packers finished 7th in the NFC in sacks allowed while among the leaders for most pass attempts. They also played most of the season without their All-Pro left tackle (Clifton) and several games without their right tackle (Bulaga), both of whom will be back this week.

Last time these teams squared off with the Pack missing both tackles, the vaunted Giants had two sacks and Rodgers passed for 449 yards and 4 TD's.

To say this is a mismatch of lines is a vast overstatement.

To be blatently honest - there's just not much the Packers suck at anything this year.  They ARE that good.  The formula for the Giants to win is offensive line and defensive secondary:

1.)  Protect Manning and give him time to get the ball to Cruz, Nicks and Manningham.  That receiver core is simply on fire rigth now!

2.)  A successful running game.  If the offensive line can get Jacobs past the line, he's super hard to bring down for a cornerback or safety.  Run the ball and control the clock.  If you can keep Rogers and the Pack offense on the bench, you have a chance to win.

3.)  PRESSURE ROGERS!  If you give him time to set and throw, you lose.

4.)  Tight defensive coverage.  The longer it takes Rogers to find someone open, the better the chance that Tuck will run him down.

Even though I'm a Bears fan I've never hated the Packers but the fans are getting huge ego's now to where they are annoying me close to Raiders or Cowboys fans. I will be cheering (most likely fruitlessly) for the Giants next week.

mr2tony - 2012-01-09 9:37 AM Whew I'm just glad Dallas won yesterday. Looks like yet another Super Bowl run for them!!!
Once more, they're not going to lose in the post season.

My Bills haven't lost a playoff game since January 1999.

I'm starting to think we should take a lesson from Denver and get ourselves a little divine help via some super-religious QB.  I wonder if the Dalai Lama can throw or if the Pope can run a 2-minute offence.

I agree for the most part. As good as Eli and the WR's are right now, I believe the way the Giants can beat the Pack is to commit to the run game and wear our D-line down. We've been very bad against big backs like Brandon Jacobs this year and our linebackers are vulnerable.

However, in order for the Giants to do that, they have to run keep the game close from the get-go by running early and often.

If you mean the exact strategy they used against Atlanta then, yeah, that'll probably work. When the Giants went up 17-2, Atlanta was mentally broken and couldn't do anything. You could just see them deflate.

As a Packer fan I was really hoping Atlanta would take the Giants out.

The giants are a scary team because you never know if they are going to show up to play or not. When they do they are very good. Also the KC game showed that we definitely have weaknesses. We have had them all year long, we just haven't had anyone capitalize on them like the KC coach and team did.

If the Giants can do the same, run for 4-5 yards at a time and keep the offense off the field, they will give us a tough game. Our D being on the field for more than a few plays at a time is not a real good situation for us.

You also have to consider the fact that the Giants played the Pack to within a field goal during the regular season and I think they're playing better now.

X2.  Really, really entertaining game.  I was very indifferent as to who won but was glued to the TV.  Fun game to watch.  Now the NE/Denver game is getting out of hand.

Wow.... officials are 0 for 2 on fumble calls and 1 for 2 on reviews. Not a great start.

I'm usually in the court that if you play better, you wouldn't have these problems. But this is bad!

and why do they use Browns fans for Super Bowl ads? Really?

I'm in the court of if they are going to review it, at least get the review right.

The officiating has definitely changed for the postseason though. They are keeping the flags in their pockets and letting the teams play. Already this weekend two teams have had zero penalties in a game and no one has had more than 5. Big change from the regular season.

Apparently you now have to move out of the way of QB being tackled and place a pillow under his head before he hits the ground.

Giants vs Niners next week should be interesting. Its supposed to rain for 4 straight days before the game so with the stadium below sea level we could see a muddy nasty field and a game played in the rain. That has to benefit the Niners against the team with the worst running game in football.

That said, the Giants will probably still be favored.

Would love to see Ray Rice bust out another 80 yard run 2nd play of the game again!

I would also love to see Pollard say hello to the pretty boy again!
