I was driving home the other day and ended up behind a red Audi R8 convertible. Awesome bit of automobile, no doubt. The guy was only going 45, but I was hoping he would stomp on it and wind up that Ferrari V10 engine. No dice. I decided if I win the lottery the first thing I would do after giving family some only would be to march right down to the nearest Audi dealer and buy an R8.

Lamborghini engine, not Ferrari. ;-)

Was walking from my truck to the front door at LTF today.  Walked past this, stopped and took a pic.

A little more fun...

Over at another friend's place.  We're trying to drive "green" vehicles.

Oh yeah and a summer ago, I was up in Friday harbor, saw this poor beauty sitting out in the rain:

I work at a Mercedes-Benz/BMW/Cadillac dealership. We get some cool stuff to look at here. We are also the only high end dealer in town so we get a few Porsche, Ferrari's , etc. here for service as well.

Then I get in my 1997 Ford Taurus and drive home... Cry

The new SHO models are pretty ballsy.

lol, that reminds me of a funny story back in high school.  I had a pretty cherri'd out 1980 Z-28 Camaro.  This brand new 1990ish Taurus SHO pulled up next to me and wanted to race.  I kind of laughed at him, but wasn't one to back down from a race.  Lets just say after about 10 seconds I didn't see anything but his tail lights about a block ahead of me.  My ego was crushed.

I was taken for a quick ride in one of those same cars in '91, during lunch. At 95 mph on the interstate it was still pulling really hard. That girl could drive too. That Yamaha motor is something.

I also had a humbling experience when I thought my '68 289 Mustang was pretty fast. The GTO from the same era humbled me in about, oh, half a block. I was destroyed, and my friend was laughing his a$$ off at me.

I had a Boxster S before my 911 turbo.  It was the funnest car I've ever driven.  After upgrading the suspension, headers, sport exhaust, cat bypass, CAI, ECU tune, etc. etc. did a lot of autocrossing and track days with it.  It was a very forgiving car because of the mid-engine configuration.  No matter how hard you pushed it it always wanted to stay straight.  I thought it was a very high quality car throughout with great fit and finish and never a rattle.

tri42 - 2012-08-02 8:51 PM  I saw a Nissan GT-R in my rear view mirror on I-85. If you're a car nut I don't have to explain about this car..

Meh.  they're barely faster than pickup trucks.

My CEO drives a Fisker Karma (the shiny one). When Justin Beiber got busted for speeding, I thought about forwarding the article on TMZ to my CEO and saying "Sir, you and Beiber drive the same car, how cool is that!". Didn't do it which is probably why I'm employed today. Actually, his successor drives a 1990 Toyota corolla. Now there's a CEO car.

I have a Hyundai Tiburon from 2001. I was stopped at a light in Charleston, SC when a rickshaw pulled up next to me so I put it in neutral and revved up the 4cyl engine (Wheeeeeeeeeee). As his passengers and my passengers were laughing, the light turned green. The car still hadn't shifted out of Neutral and he was off. I had to gun the gas to not lose the race to get around some construction on the next block. Yep, my Tiburon got beat by a rickshaw. The shame. The shame.

LOL... cool.

Keep 'em coming.... but I still think I want a '13 Boxster S. If I had real $, it would be a Ford GT, end of story. (McCLaren F1 would be a close 2nd) Now, has anyone driven one of THOSE ? (either of the 2)

Talk about a bad start!  That truck almost won the race from the start line.  I thought it was a bracket race.  Either that or it was a tight bracket.

For a second I thought bracket race too. Truck was 2-3 car lengths before GT-R even moved, wasn't it ?

Ok, it's a bonanza week for me. Got the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend, should have some amazing shots. Until then, entertain yourselves with this pimpmobile I ran into outside my hotel 2 wks ago in Bratislava.
